Recommend Parts For AT RX-8
Have a 2004 RX-8. Looking for any recommendations for performance parts proven on the AT. Thinking about the Racing beat intake. Interested in Exhaust, Intake, Springs, and Pulleys.

Tell you what, if you have the 4 speed, add a pair real tranny coolers and force as much air into that engine. Its pretty much the same tranny as in those turbo diesel trucks mazda makes so there strong, but a little heavy. acually stronger then the 6 speeds A/T or M/T. Kcmo, basterd.

Disregard the MT comments, they're just post whoring and patting themselves on the back.
---------
The money spent on exhaust, intake and pulleys could easily be put toward an Interceptor-X (ecu) [~$1500]. With the interceptor you could be looking at 20+ horses (reportedly). With the other stuff ^ maybe 5-10. And the Interceptor could be later used in a turbo or supercharger application(read up on Pettit's thread if interested, as they have a 4port model in development). If forced induction is not in your future, the Interceptor can be used in conjuction with intake and exhaust mods to get more out of them. (Really there are a couple of piggyback/interceptor type options, but you actually get a base map with the interceptor and it has a little more flexibility and their customer support is well established here).
A highflow catalytic converter might be the best power/$ mod for the AT, but it'll make the car louder. Used in conjunction with aftermarket exhaust, it may be too loud for your tastes, but a resonator or 2 might tone it down a bit.
And don't forget other stuff like suspension. The car's a great handler, but can get even better with a couple tweaks.
