ok i have searched and searched and still havnt found anything. please help. we have a muffler shop nearby and a few people have told me to go to him and just my stock muffler cut off and get a y pipe ran. what do you think about that? wtill it sound like **** or what? its only a hundred bucks to do and that beats 500 for exhauste. i want my car to sound good not cheap but i also like loud. what would you do? also i live in alabama so emissions are no problem here

tone? power?

 

so you don't want the tailpipes? or do you want the Ypipe to run through the gaps in the rear valence? ie removing the box section?

 

Like he said , hes planning to remove the muffler , and add a Y pipe. Are you going to remove the cat? If you do i recommend you to keep your resonator to reduce rasp. Also, "would it sound like ****" ...depends on the job. I did a custom exhaust job on mine and sounds good. Also there is a possibility of exhaust leaks on the Y joint , make sure your welder knows what hes doing.

 

Its going to be very loud..smell like gas...and you will get a CEL..

 

as far as tone and power u ask well power doesnt really matter.. no exhauste does that much of a difference.. like i said in my post i dont want it to sound like ****. and nd my friend with his 350z had this job done but the sound of those cars and the 8s are completely different. and i realize how loud it will be but i dont want the honda civic sound... i want a mean sound
