Resonator or Str8 through??? Need help

What would you guys recommend...getting the midpipe with the resonator or without the resonator. This would be with the stock exhaust for now. I dont know what to do. If anyone has videos or each it would be greatly appreciated.

thankkks

Lol hey , in my experience (ive had a lot of custom exhausts done) the midpipe with resonater sounds a lot better. Theres no raspyness to it , or atleast not as much , it also quitens it down a bit so its not ungodly loud. SO i recommend midpipe with resonater. Also id change the mufflers if i were you and the piping too. Stock is 2.5 and imo the 3 inch piping sounds the best (its loud though).

I've been debating this as well, since my friend used to have the rx7store unresonated midpipe with greddy exhaust and it was just WAYYYY too obnoxious with the rasp. Is the differrence between resonated and unresonated THAT much in sound quality?

Oh I really meant thanks for the answer, sometimes people type so much I don't bother reading all of it. it was nice to see someone just get straight to the point. After reading your last post however, I'm thinking it will sound great with the greddy too, now I'm sold! Thanks.

well how significant is the difference in air flow from the resonated midpipe to the aftermarket high flow cat? Is it substantial?

i have to disagree

i recently installed the racing beat midpipe (non resonated) onto my racing beat rev8 exhaust and it is not raspy, not unbearingly loud, and actually i wouldnt mind it being a bit louder. It gives off a nice deep tone and does not drone at all. if you wanna keep it quiet just stay easy on the gas and if you want it to get loud step on it and it really roars.

i guess it really depends on which exhaust you have. im pretty sure with the greddy a non resonated midpipe would be toooo loud. but with the racing beat exhaust, a non resonated midpipe is perfect (for me that is).

so if you want an opinion on whether to get a resonated one or not, ask someone who actually has the combination you are going to have. otherwise you are going to get very very different results.

having tried a few combinations I agree with the resonated midpipe solution.
On stock and on my Trust system - non resonated was crap .

from everything that i have read so far i am leaning toward the RB cat-back when i get one. I would get a cat-back first but i am on a budget here and midpipe seems to be the solution to that. \\Konig\\ do you have a video clip or anything or your exhaust. If you do could you please send me a link or something i would appreciate it a lot.

not as raspy as with stock exhaust but still raspy . Resonator would take that rasp out and deepen the tone a little

well i guess you just have to hear it in person...and i havent heard the same setup with a resonater on so i cant comment on that. but if i had to describe the sound my exhaust makes i wouldnt say its raspy.
