Don't blame us... we tell the truth, that's all. Canzoomer had run his cat& res mid=pipe on the Greddy. It's LOUD he says. RX-8 Friend agreed.

I cant find the thread where you stated that so I decided to post it here...

Thankx!
There is no thread about it, per say. Whatever I find out I will post here. I'm still looking for someone in SoCal with the midp-4 that is willing to go see Borla...

Omicron,

Have you tried talking to the guys at Random Tech? I spoke with Clay yesterday, he seemed geniunely surprised by people's comments about the mid-pipe and said that they could possibly try a different resonator to see if that would help.

Finally made the decision to try to cut down on noice created inside car from Borla and Random's Cat and resonator. Installed the Dynamat that you guys talked about. Great info.

I can now use my cell headset again.
Thx
Now if I could only get Random Technology to send me the right resonator to stop it from hitting the bottom of the car.

Good suggestion. You motivated me to call them, and I now have an appropriate tertiary resonator on the way to me! I should have it installed next week, and hopefully it will solve the problem. I plan to install it in the location shown below, after a little modification to the pipe shown there.

I have greddy cat back and a straight through B&B midpipe with resonator (no cat). Its loud as hell but I don't mind because it sounds like a beast and you can definately feel the extra power. Plus, its cheaper than getting a midpipe with high flow cat. On the install, I did have problems with the bolts from the midpipe lining up to the greddy catback I already had on there. The rear flange on the B&B midpipe is poorly designed in my opinion. The bolts are also not the exact same size as the stock midpipe's rear flange so I had to buy new nuts to put on them. The dremel was pretty helpful on this install. Greddy makes a good catback though.

I also have a CAI so my car is about as loud as it gets.

I was actually considering ordering a borla, but maybe just replacing the CAT w/CZ's is what i need to do?

How is the flow on the stock exhaust anyway? My concern is that, in a year, when I throw FI in the car, my exhaust flow is going to be the limiting factor all because I wanted to avoid a little noise.

Let me know how that tertiary resonator works for ya Omi.

If you go turbo FI then the turbo should muffle some of that noise.

It worked out VERY well. Car sounds perfect now. Both Shebam and I have done this mod, and we agree that it's about a 50% noise reduction from the HF cat + resonator + Borla, while still maintaining that wonderful Borla sound. Check out this thread for details on what we did.
