I liked the tone with the GReddy on the RP website:

Maybe it just doesn't got with the Borla. We'll see after a few days.

Nabil,
That's not a bad idea. I may contact Rotary Performance once the part actually gets here and see about that. I'm really 50/50 about satisfying my own curiosity for just how much of a difference it makes. Also, I'm keeping the OEM cat so I'm leaning towards monitoring the difference and then making the decision whether to take it to be dyno'd for a back to back comparison.

Last night I got RP mid-pipe installed as well as the MS Flywheel , Racing Beat plug wires , Redline trans and rear diff. , MS SS clutch line and SS brake line . All I can say is WOW what a difference in the car with the MS flywheel the car revs so much faster and the shifts feel so much better . And the sound the that know is coming from my Racing Beat exhaust is a little loud but from what I've it will change with time . All and all I must say that I’ll very happy with the mid-pipe know I can’t wait to get the Racing Beat intake and see how that will heap with the cars proformace because of right know you can tell that the car needs more air under hi revs you can hear the air rushing into the intake know . So today I’m going to order the Racing Beat intake and when she is all done I’ll need to do a sound clip for all to hear ! I hope that this will help anyone that is ogn the fence about the RP mid-pipe !

If you are curious, I ordered the RB intake also. I agree the exhaust is breathing very easy now, so lets feed the engine better!

Installed my midpipe/high flow cat over the weekend. My first impression, man is it LOUD. The rest of my exhaust is OEM, and the sound was coming right through the cabin. I'm thinking I'm going to have to purchase some sound deadening materials to place around the cat, that is if it can withstand the temperatures.
The car does seem to pull stronger. I'm not going to say it is a night and day difference, but there is definitely a difference.
Anyone else with the part, does it mellow in sound after a few hundred miles, or is getting a resonator now probably a better option?

I'm going to have to double check everything, I must not have torqued something tight enough. I have no CEL, but there must be a leak to be causing that much sound. I suspect it is coming from the cat back end as the nuts work oppposite each other because they are spring loaded.
Am going to have to double check. Overall, though, the part was direct fit and I'm happy with it.

Yeah, it's loud. I was surprised at first and wasn't sure I was happy with the volume. I also had some issues with a vibration/rattle between 3 and 6K on the rpm band. Turned out my Hymee was making contact with the heat shield attached to the underside of the trunk. It is a flimsy tin thing and once I bent it up and away, no more rattle. The sound does mellow a little, but it will always growl. Give it a few days and you won't want to change a thing!

I'm getting the same thing your going to need to have the factory hanger welded on to the mid-pipe . I'm getting that done with in the next few days . As for the sound inside the car I'm also getting that sound as well I'm going to need to have that looked into make check to see if there is any bolts that are not tight . Right know I hope that with the Racing Beat intake that the sound will get better !

I also reused the original donut gasket. My buddy at the Midas place that did the install said it seated well and was not leaking. He also fabricated a hangar for me so I wouldn't have to cut up the stock parts.

I've been thinking about this combo myself (OEM exhaust + super cat)... maybe I can meet up with you in the next few weeks to see/hear/feel it in person?

G8rboy...PM me and we'll set a time to meet.
A resonator could be welded in. I'm anticipating not needing one. I think I just need to go back and re-torque as I suspect I have a few leaks in the cat-back area that is adding a considerable amount to the cabin noise.

I really dont wana sound dumb, and I would really appreciate if sumone would simply answer my question which is....won't the rotary performance mid-pipe yield more power than the rp high flow cat??? Since nemisis 8 thinks he got about 8 whp, how much whp do u think the mid-pipe will deliever?
Thx you anyone for helping me, alex

as per racingbeats web-site
"5. Remove catalytic converter and resonator from the engine completely, and replacing with "cat" replacement tube – max benefit 8 HP – regardless of what muffler is used (or even no muffler)."
so i'm gonna go with it'll add 8. now if you are turbo'd or have nitrous, or a port job it'll add more how much more i dunno.
