RX-7.com exhaust

I know this has been out for a while but I don't remember seeing any threads about it. It sounds good and is dyno'd at 21hp.

I think the 21 gain is with the midpipe. I have ordered my GReddy from my friend. I should get it at the end of the January. :D

FYI,

Don't buy their O2 Simulator.....It does not work and the quality is very poor. Buy the 02 Sim from Casper Electronics. You will need this if you get the testpipe.

How do you know that it does not work? Did you try it?

Jeff,

Absolutely, I tried it and it did not work. I had to buy the Casper Electronics 02 Simulator and it worked like a champ. The one they sell works on some other cars, but not on RX-8’s due to its advance computerized system. After buying the product from them for 29.00, I found out that you can buy it from the manufacture direct for 20.00. The quality of the product is extremely poor. The Casper Electronics includes a solid protective housing which the one from RX-7.com does not. This is necessary to protect the delicate circuit inside. If want I can post a picture so you can see.

XDEEDUBBX,

I testpipe is great for those individuals how love to drive the RX-8 at very high RPM’s because it improves the exhaust flow. There is not point in putting on an exhaust if system if you do not increase the flow through the catalytic converter. Instead of buying a high flow catalytic (which still has a bit of restriction) you go with a testpipe.

Question

OK so I am new, but aren't testpipes against the law to have?

so is ripping the tag off your mattress but they havn't hunted me down yet! I have done it in CA of all states for years, but yes its not legal. I had a friend who beat his cat out and welded a straight pipe through it so it retained the stock look. just an idea

Ya there ya go, you guys go ahead and listen to someone that had one bad experence.... Ive had Rotary Performance's O2 Simulator for about 5 months now and have had Zero Problems, Yes when they first started selling them there were 30 of em that were bad, this was told to them by the manufacturer. Tell them that your went bad and guess what..... They give you a new one.. WOW. Ive been dealing with RP online for about 6 years, a 79, 91 and 04 rotary , and have not one complaint.

That would be cool to post a picture so I can see. Do you have the midpipe from RX7.com? Is it too loud? Can you feel a performance gain? Can you tell me where to get the Casper 02 Sim? Much appreciated man!
:D

Rx8Freehk,

If your comment below is true, then that means they lied to me. When I installed the unit & it failed, I emailed them to report the issue. They responed back by saying they were not aware of any isssues & all of them have worked. Thats not cool.......

Rx8Freehk,

I see you have the Greddy SP. Do you have a sound clip? I’m thinking of getting it but I’m worried it may be too loud. I like the way the Greddy sounds with a cat, but I have not heard it without one.

Please let me know.....Thanks

Sorry to be a knucklehead here guys but can I ask if the RX7.com Midpipe has a silencer how is this being achieved? It it simply a another restriction on the flow of the midpipe. Kind of like how they put a tiny hole at the end of a 4 inch tip lol. Im confused, how does this work? What is the difference between this and a resonator? Will the silencer effectively give me more low to midrange torque at the expense of high end power?

Im sorry ive never gotten a mid pipe before i usualy keep my cats on but if im gonna get canzoomers stage 2 Ill have to do it right.

Any help would be appreciated!
