I think removing the rear wheel speed sensors and tieing them back out of the way, and then disabling DSC/TSC would suffice for a good base dyno. A bunch of us are dynoing the 26th, so you might wait and read that thread once we get back.

That was your first post, are you a new RX8 owner? Welcome to the forum by the way. :D

I'm curious--why would an RX-8 dyno any more or less accurately than any other front engine, rear drive car?

There's been a lot of debate on this especially early on. It appears that people's dyno's regardless if the front wheels are turning or whether you disabled the back wheel sensors or regardless if you have DCS/TCS flashing during the actual test, makes no difference in the dyno result. As always none of this has been proven as definitive but the evidence points to the above as being accurate. But hey, OJ is still free, isn't he....

A little off topic....sorry, but how much does it cost to dyno a car anyway? I would like to do it before I start adding GO FASTER parts...

Here is where we are going on the 26th, but we are getting a group rate of $75 per pull.

Call me stupid, but I thought when you dyno a car you just put it on the big rollers and it really has little to do w/ the car itself other than the RPMs it's outputing. Why do you need to know speed?

The theory is that the engine computer chops the power if all four wheels aren't turning at equal speed, showing a low-traction condition.

It says on the company's webapage that the dyno will come with A/F... Are they going to tune your cars while on the dyno. If this is so than $75 is a great deal.

Most of us have no means for them to 'tune' anything...they'll allow for minor (less than 5 minute) adjustments between pulls, however, for those who can.

75$ per pull???? That seems frickin crazy to me. At the place I dynoed it was 20 bucks a pull. I hope you're saying 75 bucks per person, and you do it in a couple gears. That is just a lot I think.
