Rx8 & 350 Dynos

I at one time also thought about that...I even went as far as to think...
Why not only dish them in a little bit...but ALSO make a progressive center ridge in the direction of travel to sort of "scoop" if you will the combustion outwards and to the sides...
Think of a "W"...maybe multiple small "W's" on the face of the rotor in the direction of travel to promote a more complete burn and gas evacuation...
Speaking of burns...tis time to don the asbestos suit right about......NOW!

Granted Nissan had to deal with rising emissions requirements, economies of scale, etc…for the new VQ, but Mazda has to do the same. The point is simple enough, Mazda has done quite a lot with this engine. Both in producing more power out of identical displacement, and considering the lack of support even in dealing with their parent Ford.

RENESIS displacement increases have been discussed, and dismissed because of the way the flame front behaves in the rotary combustion chamber. Also even if the displacement increased, the physical size of the intake ports couldn't, so there would still be a horsepower-limiting factor involved.
BTW-My 2006 Base 6MT weighs in at 2950 WITH a half tank of gas and some luggage in the trunk! It will weigh less one I get the brake system done.
