Since i heavent touched my RX8 yet i dont kno how fast it wil go after performance, but RX8 doesnt seem to be that fast, i've seen videos of civic hatchbacks beating the crap outta of RX8 and also some hondas

Keep the rx8 f*ck the civic everyone has a civic, with the greddy turbo you are looking at 270rwhp and with the mazsport grddy turbo upgrade your looking around 300rwhp. The most hp i heard from a rx8 without an engine swap was 370rwhp. If you have the money and want a kick *** car that will destroy almost anything on the road and look good talk to scott from mazsport

The rx-8 is a track car. It's not so much a quick car on a straight, but cornering is more of it's cup of tea .. er oil. To be honest, there is no stock Civic (to my knowledge) that can beat the 8 stock. Straight line or road coarse. Stock for stock, if you get beat by a Civic in an 8, you are doing something VERY wrong in that left seat.
This is actually funny to me because people seem to forget that there are more aftermarket parts for the Civic than almost any other car on the market. Case in point, you can get an intake from Circuit City for a Civic for cryin out loud (no BS, I litterally saw intakes for sale at a Circuit City a couple of years ago)!!! I mean almost everything has been done with the car. So engine swaps are pretty much an easy exchange of a little cash away.
What's out for the 8? Look around this site. There's not much, but definitely a promising future for the 8.
As far as 8s getting beat by Civics, they need an engine swap to pull it off. As far as 8s getting beat by Civics on road coarses, they need some serious work. Civic owners will say they came out cheaper with the mods, swap, and suspension work, but to be honest, do you really think so?
Now I'm sure you know all this right?
By the way, Type Rs aren't sold in the US. And even then, it's driver versus driver.

I find the RX-8 is best suited for pizza delivery during the week due to it's great gas mileage, and non-flooding issues on cold shut off.
And on the weekends it's large enough to carry lots of furniture to help friend's move into new houses. Just last weekend I moved my friend's 72" flat screen - just put down the center pull through into the trunk.
And of course, it's always competitive at the yearly tractor pull.
Really, kudos to Mazda for building the most complete, practical, versatile car EVER!!!!!!

Re:
Get a new 07 Civic, it's so powerful and high tech, it uses a solid-rear axle like the cars in the 60s, and rarely any other car on the street will beat it's crazy 197hp. Also don't forget, you can say "I'll add a turbo to the Honda and beat anyone out there" as if no other car out there is capable of adding a turbo too. Also just adding a Vtec sticker gives Hondas extra 30hp to the wheel, no other car is capable of that.
