RX8 Intake

Hey guys i just bought an RX8 and im thinking of putting in an intake and want some feed back. First think i dont know if i should do cold air intake or a short ram intake...i heard there is no difference between the two while others say there is a huge difference. People always say cold air intake if its raining or u hit a puddle you could possible get water in the engine. So many someone can shine some light on this for me

other then that should i go injen or aem? if you guys could also recommend model numbers as well that would be great

I'm going to help you out here but next time use the search button because this question has been asked and answered time and time again

You want to go with a cold air intake. there are many different ways of doing this

AEM is popular
Racing beat with Duct-- great intake
K&N drop in with racing beat Duct -- great combo
- these are a few options-

You should know that no matter what intake you chose your not going to see any more then 2-3 hp gain. I wouldn't worry about the water issue to much unless your planning on driving in 2 feet of water. However, I see your from Ontario, i would recommend going with one of the two Racing Beat options that i listed because of the freezing weather conditions in the winter. AEM is exposed to freezing. Also, look into some youtube clips for the sound your looking for.

I just bought an 08 that has Mazdaspeed intake and exhaust. The intake drops down in front sitting behind the air scoop. I know not if this is good or not, but the car sounds great and it's not too loud. Not sure what this all means yet, but I'm going to figure it all out by keeping up the reading on this forum.

The MS intake is alright, very comparable to the AEM intake.

it's probably not the best intake but i have the secret weapon r intake and it simply sounds insane. sounds like a turbo is spooling at about 1/3 throttle. its just in a very odd position and near the radiator so gotta be careful with sucking in hot air, so i hear
