RX8Store Exhaust sound clip!
I would first like to thank success07 from the forum for coming out and letting us play with his car.
Sounds very stock at idle, but gets real throaty when reving it.
We tried to get some dyno numbers but all we could get is a base run with the stock exhaust. The car went into limp mode after that and we couldnt get it out. We will get the car back on the dyno after christmas.
From what success07 said it was a big gain over the stock exhaust in terms of butt dyno. Im sure he will post his thoughts.
Here are a few more pics of the exhaust.

The pleasure was all mine Jason. Thank you for taking the time out of your Sunday to get me in; it is much appreciated.
First of all, This is my second attempt at responding to the thread. I wrote last night for 30mins when my home computer decided to freeze, leaving me with a white screen. I calmly stepped away from the laptop so I wouldn't chuck it out the backside of the house or smash it with my fists. It was late so I decided to just go to bed and write you all today.
Let me start by saying that going over to the RX8Store yesterday was like an early Christmas for me. I had done alot of research on the various exhausts that are available for the 8 and had initially narrowed my search down to two - B&B and are beloved forum favorite, Borla. I spoke with Jason and he said that his store had developed an exhaust that he would like to dyno on an 8 but didn't have one readily available. In comes yours truely who just went over a 1000mi. and recently had my first oil change. So I was ready and rarin' to go.
My first impressions were very good to say the least. I pulled my 8 into the garage where the dyno was and there sat the RX8Store Exhaust. Jason had it on display and all shined up - dual highly polished mufflers with 3.5in. highly polished tips. Solid build quality and about 10-12lbs lighter than stock. I was initially skeptical about the look because on previous threads the exhaust didn't appeal to me as much as say the Borla, B&B, and RacingBeat.
We proceeded to swap the exhausts and carefully slide the RX8Sotre Exhaust into place. Right away to rear of the car took on a totally differnet look. After staring at the stock exhaust for the last few monthes, it will take me a short time to get used to the new muscular tips that now exit the rear.
We then lowered the car and the fun began. I knew that I didn't want the car to sound like a whined up toy so I was a little nervous, though extremely excited to hear what the new exhaust would sound like. I had narrowed my choices down to the two I thought provided the throatiest (if there is such a word) and told Jason that was what I was looking for as far as sound was concerned.
The moment of truth - Jason asked if I was ready and then turned the key. A wonderfully low rumble filled the garage. Jason gave the gas a couple little taps as to wet my appetite for more. As he hit the gas hard the first time I knew that this would be the exhaust for me! A low, throaty tone rang threw my ears that I thought should have come with this car from the beginning.
As Jason mentioned above, we got stock exhaust dyno numbers but the car went into limp mode thereafter which made it impossible to get any additional dynos run accuartely. We'll resume runs after the holiday as he said.
It was late Sun. and we both had to get home to our families. At that point, I felt like an animal that was set free from a cage. I could finally open her up on the freeway and some back road twistes. I was also concerned with exhaust drown at cruising speeds and made that a requirement of my new exhaust. The RX8Store Exhaust showed no signs of drown while cruising at 65, 75 or 85 on the freeway. Hard acceleration is extremely throaty until 4500-5000rpms when it starts to hum the rest of the way up to the buzzer. Oh what a beautiful sound! I love to rev the engine to 3k now before I turn it off because it sounds so good.
My girlfriend can't stop making growling noises like the exhaust. She said she loves the new throatier sound! Here I thought it was something I did last night to cause her to growl but I guess that's another story. Anywho.........where were we........oh yes....
All in all, its just what this doctor ordered; The RX8Store Exhaust has great looks, great quality, great sound and a great price.
Questions? Just let Jason or I know. There are alot of sound clips and dyno charts out there from alot of reputable companies - This one works for me!

That exhaust looks and sounds amazing. I was sold on the Borla but now I think I am leaning towards this one.
It would be awesome if someone could organize some sort of exhaust shootout and post the results. There are just too many options.

Thats a good sounding exhaust too.
I am surprised how similar, yet basically different all these different exhausts are. Cant wait to hear what kinda power you got from it. I should get my greddy tested "soon"

tekp - there is an exhaust 'mecca type' thread in the MazdaSpeed/ Aftermarket section of the forum. Check it out. It will provide you all the info that I think you're looking for. No outright side by side comparo's but all available exhaust info to date. Enjoy!

RDRector - I'm trying to understand why you would feel the need to post a response in such abusive manner. The RX7/ RX8Store has put together a quality exhaust using MagnaFlow and stainless steel components. As stated earlier in this thread we will jump back on the dyno after the holiday and post the results at that time. The RX8 is known for being a pain on the dyno which results in inaccurate reads. Calling the exhaust a "No name" and "POS" is very telling of your character. I will pray for you.
For all others - Please enjoy the sound clip and pics and we'll get those dyno runs to you ASAP. Happy Holidays!
