3) Weeks of research? All you had to do was go into the forums and look for turbo threads. PTP and Greddy both have kits. If that's not enough tire-shredding power, you can always swap in a lower rear gear.
To give a less "hatter" response and add to this....

You could also swap in an older 13BTT engine and upgrade to a larger single turbo. I beleive that's what Rod Millen is doing in his grenade sponsored rx-8 drift car. I also beleive the JIC rx-8 drift car is doing something similar. The rx-8 also has a stiffer chassy and overall better balalncing than the rx-7. If that still isn't enough power and you have endless money a 20B swap with twin T78's will have enough power/torque to twist the chassy at launches and maybe even between shifts. It really isn't fair to say this car has nothing, time and money and any car can have whatever you want.

...and those were routes we were looking into, but as you mention funding plays alot into it. I just didn't see why I'd have to rip out a new motor from a new car when the EVO (current project) was ready to be tooled on.

I don't mean to be an ***** but sometimes a builder wants to get as much info as the best place is the forum. I know I could've swapped motors but when it's all said and done I don't think it would have been worth it. PLUS, all those guys complain about the maintenance and plumbing problems which are just ongoing.

Sorry, I'm not the richest fool in the world ~ I personally like the car but not for what I wanted to do. My "cookie cutter" 240sx hasn't lost an event to an RX8 or 7 for that matter but again, that's the kind of stuff I wanted to get from members like you.

Again thank you for your feeback - could've helped me out and my cred with this forum about 4 months ago.

But you RX8 guys...hmmmm, just having a hard time realizing that the car is an absolute dog - Really, if you had the choice would you really take an rx8 over an EVO or even an SRT4?
gtfo.

seriously, what are you trying to prove? that you can grab a catalog and build a car? congradulations. Oh, by the way, since you are on a RX8 FORUM not very many/anyone will care.

Thanks!

Wow.. guys... I'm not understanding why all the pissy response to this guy. All it seem like he was doing was trying to get some background info on a Car to do a project. Lets be honest there is just not much after market parts for the car to make it a raging beast but we we could have just let him know that instead of being such dicks to him.. Seriously you guys sounded like some pissy *** Porsche owners... honestly... I guess I don't understand why everybody is being such jerks to this guy about his question.....???.....???...If I missed something my bad.. but dam...??

First of all if the guy was worth a **** he wouldn't come back to brag about his new leet car and take shots at the rx8. If he wanted to do something differant a V8 swap would be the best way to go. So he goes to a 240?? what part hasn't been made by 4 differant companies yet? I dont think you can even make any new parts for that car cause they have all been made. So whats left to do? change colors on a product and claim its better then the others?
I could think of atleast 10 differant things I could make for the Rx8 off the top of my head.
