FL Some ideas for my exhaust (need advice)

Ok so I have been trying to sell my exhaust (HKS highpower and Exoticspeed mid pipe) and it's just not happening. I would like to get that power back and get back to 19.5 mpg so I want to reinstall it, the problem though is that the system is way too loud. Also, I had a few leaks and this time I will get all new hardware and carbon gaskets before hand and I'm hoping the car wont smell near as bad.
So ok, here's what I was thinking; Option 1 Install both mid pipe and muffler with an ECV from Apexi. http://www.apexi-usa.com/products/?id=5326 The only issue here is that it will cost about $180 and the 80mm is about 4mm too large. Maybe some good welding can do the trick but that's an expensive test...
Option 2 is to install just the mid pipe and keep the heavy stupid stock cat-back...
Option 3 would be to gut the stock cat but then I have no options to fall back on other than buying a stock pipe if I need it and that would suck a lot.
Option 4 is to install the HKS and pretend it's saving me gas and enjoy the sound.... idk

Okay, I have the same setup but with the BHR midpipe. I was ready to ditch the HKS and my SR motorsports single resonated catless pipe after a week because the noise was insane. The BHR pipe changed that, I was very skeptical but it worked. Don't get me wrong, my exhaust is still on the loud side but I like it, the tone is great. It can drone going up hill as low speeds, etc. but the noise at WOT is sex and the reason why I want to keep it.

That said, for the ideal sound why not just have an additional resonator welded into the rear pipe of the HKS? the Apexi thing is cool but expensive. You can get resonators cheap and have them welded in for $20.00-$30.00 bucks.

you can do my setup, i have an AP Dual res midpipe with a custom Magnaflow exhaust, for me it sounds Perfect, no rasp!! its quiet when you want it to be; also loud when you want it to be

why not just buy a supercat? You wont have the smell and the sound wont be too loud either. This is an easy answer IMO
