The mods that make the most sense to me involve a sort of double benefit. Right now I'm in the process (eg waiting for it to arrive) of doing the ap pulley for the aforementioned cooling benifit. As I said before anyother positive side effects are gravy. I'm doing the RB street reflash again primarily for the early fan turn on and the resultant cooling benefit. Improvements in power and driveability are again, gravy.
For some, sound matters alot (I could care less) so investing in an exhaust that enhances that characteristic and maybe has a small performance increase is a sort of double benefit for the mod.
Its hard to extract big gains on this car from anything (edit, excluding FI), and the cost of aftermarket bolt on stuff is more than most cars I have owned. Therefore I think the approach of looking for mods that offer more than one dimension of improvement makes alot of financial sense, as well as being more rewarding.

Your approach, eforer, is well thought out and certainly better than those who throw a bunch of parts on their cars and engines, and then wonder why it doesn't run as well or make as much power as they thought it would.

While I agree with RG point about sometimes posting rather than searching, I think a little push in the right direction is sometimes needed. Despite what you are suggesting, I am well aware that I know little or next to nothing, and that I have forgotten more than I now know. Pullies, though, are easy to understand yet usually completely misunderstood. Why? Lack of thought IMO.

N/A HP is like weight reduction. It only comes a little at a time, but it adds up.
As for the original confusion, I'd use the following analogy. If I were riding a bike in a low gear, I'd accelerate pretty well. If I lost 50% of what I weigh, I'd accelerate pretty damn well. If I were towing a boat behind me, me losing those pounds doesn't really make so much of a difference because the inertia of the boat dwarfs mine. Rev speed goes up with lightweight rotating components (FW, rotors, pullies) when in neutral because all the hp goes into accelerating these couple components and % changes in them are significant when compared to the system as a whole. When in gear, the mass of the car comes into play and the individual rotating components play a much less significant roll. So if people say you should lose a few pounds, you can always tell them it hardly matters when pulling a boat with a bicycle.

i see, thanks. so nothing special to look out for, or many chances that something can go wrong in getting a AP pulley then right? looks like i'm gonna order a AG pulley soon.
