A catless midpipe would increase the obnoxious noises, and that 4-5k sound will get louder.

A catless midpipe or high flow cat should not do anything to your mpg on a large scale. If anything they should theoretically increase mpg because they are more free flowing, will increase horsepower and decrease weight, meaning you can use less throttle to get up to the same speeds or starting from a stop. Only reason someone might see a decrease in mpg is because they get too happy with the throttle.

No, There are two mov clips from RP with RP Supercat and Greddy SP2. One with windows up and one with windows down:

I've got the GreddySP2 and will get the RP supercat when available. I think a group buy may be in the works.

Combo sounds nice to me...

I got an 06 RX8 with the AEM CAI. and the Greddy exhaust... Absolutly no ricy sound for me... It may be the Cat pipe you are using... I plan to buy one with the group buy as soon as it is available.

I have the same and it sounds excellent. Not loud at all... well compared to when I had the catless midpipe on. I just had to put the stock cat back on for inspection. I'm thinking of leaving it on because it sounds so much better and most importantly my eyes aren't watering at every stoplight. I thought catless would be worth the extra bit of power but I was wrong!

Huh? Look at the name "Supercat." Yes it is still a catalytic converter, but it is a high flow unit. High flow cats are not illegal so long as you still pass the emissions requirements.
