SR motorsports packages

Hello. What do you think about this:http://www.srmotorsports.com/RX8_Packages.html . They claim 28 and 37 hp. Do you think it is a true, or little "bullshit". 1.2k - 2k $ Is possible to spend better those money to get better gains??

I like how they didn't do a before and after. People here have already proven that these areomatic mods do little in the way of making a positive net gain on power. Did you also notice on the graph that they plotted Hp over Speed ? According to this, once you reach 100mph you'll be working at a load of 140+ Hp

You can't even extrapolate where in the band there was an increase. Looks like total BS to me.

I only have the pulleys so I couldn't comment on what the kit dyno's at but I have read its total B.S.

If your looking for real HP - Get a turbo.

It's bad stuff, it's just overpriced for what you get.

Fo regular hp gains just go for a nice hi-flow cat (SR Motorsports unit actually is quite good or RP), air intake (Racing Beat or AEM), maybe a nice lightweight flywheel (RB, ACT, SR Motorsports (but Nemesis is right it is overpriced), UR, etc). For the money those are the best acceleration mods, unless lke the poster says above you want to get into a turbo, in which case $2K isn't going to cut it.

I did serach and what i found was quite not enough I was just curios this company and it's seems a little bit trumped up. Yep, I want make a change in hp in my 8, but i would feel better with N/A car and keep it 2k$ in my pocket instead buying turbo + stuff. It is possible to get this 20-30 hp from N/A mods??

What I would do :

1. RP Supercat
2. Racing Beat REVi & Ram Air Intake
3. Used (& tune it) Canzoomer Piggyback ECU from this board

I've used all thier stuff. The cat fell apart on me after 20k miles, I now use the RP supercat. I do like thier intake and exhaust. Thier pulleys do help color code my engine bay, but thats about it. 40hp? Not even close.

if you don't have a clue buying from them will be OK, if you're a technical person and want detailed information about what it is you're buying before placing an order then don't waste your time ...

LOL, IMO their "technicians" are clueless, or at least that was my experience. I read this and compare it to my few calls and then start wondering what other BS they are spreading in the flower bed ...:

Question 6. I have had problems getting customer support from other shops / vendors when I had a problem with their product. What kind of customer support can I expect if I purchase products form SR Motorsports ?

Answer : We have a full staff of very knowledgeable technicians for any questions or problems, that work 9 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday.

I made the mistake of buying my pullies from them...I should have bought them from Unorthodox Racing and I would have saved at least ~$100.

Fanman above I believe dynoed his car when he installed the pullies, I don't believe he got even close to that.

I never had mine dyno'ed but there is no way I got 12hp.

Just curious, as I only had my hi flow cat on for about 3,000-4,000 miles before I pulled it off & sold it. Did any of you guys whose cats failed after about 20K miles call SR motorsports and complain ? What was their response ? 20K miles doesn't sound like too many miles.

sounds like they're been trying to claim abuse et. to dodge the issue of the few people who called them and reported back here

that's what they told me at first, but they said I could ship it to them and they would check it out. It cost me about $40 to send it in...they never called me back so I took the lead and called them. The tech said that he could see no visible problem with the cat and that was the only way he could check it (visibily).

I told them I had replaced the O2 sensor and still got a cel...same code P0420. I tried basically every solution b4 I sent it back.

to make a long story short, after being on the phone for about 15 min, he finally decided to send the cat back to the manufacturer for further analysis.

Supposedly, I'll have it back sometime next week, with a new cat material installed. But who knows?? Only time will tell...
