Stock RX8 vs. RX8 with Intake/exhaust/flywheel
If you had a bone stock RX8 and went head to head against an RX8 that had basic upgrades... like intake/catback/flywheel/sway bars/strut bars/shocks...
would the track performance be THAT much different? would street driving be THAT much different?
I'm figuring to buy the "basic" bolt ons...and get them installed, would probably be in the neighborhood of $3000.
Exhaust $600
Intake $300
Springs $250 + labor
Sways $300 + labor
strut bars $300?
Flywheel $500 + labor
I would say you'd be at $3000 in costs if you factor in labor too.
if you were to put $3000 into an EVO or STi you would see huge gains in power... but that's a turbo.
i'm guessing that on an RX8...the car will overall perform "better"...but assuming equal drivers... lap times wouldn't really be all that much different..
or would they?

springs, strut bar, and sways but no shocks??
forgot the afe short shifter, hf cat/midpipe, reflash/standalones while your at it..
did you try the "RX-8 Competition (Racing)" thread? if your looking at track/auto, see that those people are doing... and yes it will make a difference, if not going faster but feeling better

You've asked a couple of questions that have been pretty well beaten about in the forum. Search around and you'll find the answers.
The short answer: do the suspension mods and forget the power mods. Suspension mods will make you faster around the track. Spend the money you save from the power mods to get high performance driving classes. That will make you faster than an intake and exhaust. For more detailed responses to what each of those mods do...search.

each rx-8 is slightly different, and the driver weights are different. Also altitudes between locations are different...
the amount of power gained from the flywheel/intake/exhaust is going to be less than the variations from the aforementioned items..
How about changing your question around: If you had a two rx-8, bolted up a greddy turbo kit to each, then dropped 3k in supporting mods on one, would the 3k make a great deal of difference?
