I've been reading through this thread and this seems like a great product, if I purchase this, would this mask my synchros problem already? Few months ago, my 3rd gear would grind in high rpm when shifting into 4th, took it to Mazda, they told me it was the brass rings that were wearing out and that I needed to replace my whole transmission and they would give me a used one for $2,500 with labor included -___-

I told them I'd check elsewhere, and I ended up using the Redline Transmission Fluid which prolongs the life of the transmission and it actually did! Helped a lot and I didn't hear it grinding anymore, just recently, I'm noticing it grind again, and was wondering if I buy this would it prevent my gears from grinding and prolong my transmission even longer?

Things like that will only be a bandaid. That said, dealerships aren't exactly known to hit the nail on the head when troubleshooting problems. But it certainly can't hurt. Less pressure on the synchros is a good thing.

I installed mine a while back, and I enjoy it. I never did try and slam it in gear or shift faster than it wants to, but it's certainly an added piece of mind.

Thanks man, that is good to know. I'll probably see if I can pick one up come Christmas.

I pretty much stopped blowing up S1 6-spd transmissions on drag-type 1-2 shifts once I installed one

It does prevent over-stuffing gears during hard, fast shifts when adjusted properly.

Unless there is a solution to fit the inner rubber boot back on, I may remove mine. There were a few members that were against this product and called it inelegant for how the OEM boot had to be cut up. You're really claimingYou stopped blowing up transmissions because of this product?

They work very well to prevent the over shifting that seems to break these boxes.

And is there a solution to getting the intact inner boot on? Or cut up is the only way

it only helps if you’re slamming gears like 1-2 shift when drag racing, it does nothing else for transmission life otherwise
