hello fellow members..i have a feeling i might get bashed for this anyways here goes. i searched the forums and nothing. can our stock engine handle a t66 turbo, i saw something about it in that thread where the 19 yr old kid wanted to keep up with a supra but it wasnt answered. anyways i got a friend who has a 1400 hp 1957 chevy and hes got a friend who could get me that turbo for cheap. idk how cheap yet ill keep u posted ill see him tonight. well anyways hope someone can answer this quick so i can give an answer to my friend tonight thx

Did a quick google on t66 turbo and rx8 and that showed up. from the first few posts it doesnt look possible.

Most turbo upgrades start with the Greddy kit, and use their manifold - if yours won't bolt-on you would have to start from scratch with a custom manifold.

It can definitely be done.
Can it be done by you?

dame well thats not the answer i was hopeing for but thx for all your help. if acostaracing couldnt do it i doupt i will. thx for the help all i guess just save up money and see what happens with mazsport.

 

NEWS guys/gals i am talking to my friend right now here is the skoop. t66 is already on an 8 here the guy who has it got in an accident last night racing. were gonna go down there soon to check out the status of the turbo. if i was to get it id get the whole package..if its in good shape of course. there is also another yellow rx8 in wallingford, ct with the turbo so there is hope for me. these are the specs he said with turbo i get lil over 400hp with 16psi boost.

 

Good luck with that. Dont be suprise when you have to rebuild your engine every so often.

i didnt beleive it at first either and still have few doubts until i see it for myself but i dont think hed bs me about it. as soon as i visit their garage ill post pics of course. btw the guys who have the other 8 are gonna be on pinks i think upcoming may or sometimes around this time. im the last person whod want to get screwed here trust me with 2 years of college left i dont want to be thrwoing money down the drain.
