I've heard a lot about the other brands, but anyone have any experience with Tanabe? Maybe I just suck at searching, but I couldn't find much info on them. Anyone gotta link to a sound clip, etc..? thanks!

 

No sound clip, but I have the Tanabe Hyper Medallion with the RP Supercat. They work well together, imo.

 

Nice set up Red Devil. Any chance of a sound clip? I'd love to hear that combo.

 

I've listened to sound clips posted, but I haven't been able to hear an 8 with an aftermarket exhaust in person. Do they sound like the "buzz bombs" that drive around, or do they actually sound nice? I'm too old to sound like a "rice burner," but I wouldn't mind my car sounding like a G35 with an exhaust on it. Any comparison?

 

I'll ask at our Chicago meet on Sat if anyone has the equipment to do so. I had a friend drive the car past me a few weeks back so I could hear the exhaust. We both agreed it sounds a little menacing with a very distinct rumble.

It was between this exhaust and the Racing Beat cat-back. I got this one because it weighs a little less than the factory cat back and the RB weighs a little more than the factory cat back. From what I could figure, both were supposed to be about the quietest exhausts on the market at the time.

 

I never get members on this forum stating their exhaust made the RX-8 sound like a rice burner. The rotary sounds like nothing else. Open it up and you may not like the note, but it doesn't sound like rice.
