I do understand the 6 Speed would be a difference, but didnt realize the Mazda Auto took THAT much power away. Thanks for the help here & there.
If you have the 4port 4AT version, like the guys said, forget it. The Renesis is a low-torque high-rev high-HP engine. Since the 4AT simply doesn't allow the renesis to rev up high, the whole point of having a rotary engine is negated

If you want to go -moderately- fast, get the 6port 6MT or the new 6port 6AT version. Obviously the MT will be faster, but I guess you US guys love your auto cars

And yes, even the lowly 4port version should be able to reach 230-240kph (150mph) easily, and more....and there is no governor outside of Japan....

Absolutely true. But trading for a manual will be a big loss of $$$. Then factor in another 10,000 to get the proper turbo setup for the manual. That's a whole lot more money to spend.

I highly doubt if someone has an auto and WANTS an auto, that they'll care to go faster beyond a certain point. If they wanted to be the fastest car possible, they would have bought a manual, and for that matter, they probably would have bought a different car. My goal, for instance, is to get the car to 300whp, and still be able to sit in traffic without shooting myself. Is that possible? I think so. It would either have to come from a Pettit stage 3 AT, or Hymee's 4 port kit.

You really only have one option for more power without trading in the car on a new one and that is forced indcution. Intake and exhaust mods aren't going to do anything that you can feel. Keep in mind that through some ecu tuning you can improve your power, it still won't matter against other cars such as the 350Z. the engine will need some help breathing to do that. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, I say go for it. It would be really nice to see an auto walk away from an unsuspecting 6MT!

I saw in another post, people saying how the swap from the 4Spd Sport Auto to the 6Spd would be rather expensive, an seemingly not worth it, so I guess I will have to wait it out & see if anyone decides to do anything for the 4Spd Auto world. As for wanting an Auto, it wasnt my first choice, but as seeing it was a gift more or less for the girlfriend an auto is the route I went.
