Transmission 2nd gear grind.

Transmission 2nd gear grind.
When I shift above 7.5k+ rpm smooth shifting. Not slamming gears like a arcade game. It will not shift into 2nd shift without grinding. Below 7k it will transition smoothly. Fluid levels are still acceptable. Same fluid as from the dealership. 13k miles on it.
I do drive the car like I stole it every day. I can honestly say I have grinded 2nd maybe 3-5 times by accident strolling around town. But I dont speed shift or slam gears. Used to driving DSMs with their glass cannon transmissions.
Syncos dead? Want some opinion and feedback before I drop it off and they say "Sorry, you raced your car, not covered!"

I have an '04 w/ 43k that just started to grind in 2nd. It'll grind just upshifting into it at low rpms, and the clutch is depressed to the floor. I just swapped the fluid for 2/3 Amsoil MTL 75-90, and 1/3 Amsoil MTF Synchromesh. So far, no grinding in the past few days. But, I'm sure the damage is already done. My question is, I know that the MTF synchromesh 10w30 is too light for the 8's transmission to use in full, but will the MTF blend help to protect the synchro and mating slider?
Also, if I track with this blend, which part of the transmission is going to wear harshly?

I had the same problem...Try RED LINE HEAVY SHOCKPROOF GEAR OIL ...It helped me very much..Just give it some time to warm up and you will see huge difference..Trust me on that

I read in some threads that the shockproof is bad, in the long term it will damage the transmission. Though I can't remember how or why. I know mixing in Amsoil MTF Synchromesh like I'm doing now is questionable too, especially if you drive like I do.

I wonder why stuff like this cant be in just one thread.
Common problem. (happened to me) VERY often blamed on syncros, mistakenly imo. I think it gets blamed on syncros cuz that is the only think most folks know the word for in a transmission that has to do with switching gears.
Fluid will not help.
Listen to Team and Charles.

Well some people do seem to resolve the issue with an oil change
Since it's cheap enough to try (2 qts) it's worth a shot before spending the big money on a trans R&R
but the wrong oil choice will be worse still and every recommendation under the sun is being made
I'd stick to the Redline products, try MT90 first, then Heavy Shockproof as maybe a last ditch effort as it's a racing fluid intended to be changed regularly, not intended as a high mileage daily use oil

Ok now I'm having a similar problem changed the oil less than 5k ago and well now 2nd will occasionally grind when rev matching and down shifting. Today was the worst one yet big old crunch. Now what do you have to show the dealer when you go to get it looked at and does anyone around my area know of a good place to get it looked at. I don't have the receipts to my last oil change for the transmission. So what do I do essentially.

I have had these grinding issues ever since I got my car with 55,000 miles on it. Tried multiple royal purple/redline/mobil1 oils. Nothing helped and some actually made it worse. The best thing that worked for me is a full fill of lucas oil. thick ****! WORKS GREAT!
152,000 miles and counting!
Its like night and day difference! Rarely grinds now, except for when the trans is not warmed up yet.
Anyone have any experiences with lucas?
