Greddy turbo kit is a good kit. If you don't know much, or anything, about tuning, that kit is the way to go, since it'll come with the e-manage ultimate and a map pre-loaded for the 8. Plus there are a bunch of people here who have that kit, so if you have any problems they can probably help you out.

As for the lambo doors...... I think they are ugly, and consider it MAJOR rice. But, that's just me and if thats what you are into, then go for it. All I can say is, don't get a cheap kit. Some of the cheaper kits let the doors sway when they are up and open.

if you are looking for a turbo I would wait until mazsport comes out with their kit. It will have alot more power.

Do whatever makes you happy. just understand that most people, not just 8 owners will consider the lambo doors rice. then again (i know ill get flamed for this) most people will think the 8 is rice if your young and especially if your asian.

as for FI, its an exciting year for the 8. there are SUPPOSED to be a few more options that are on the verge being finalized. the greddy kit is what you pay for it. to make it run better, you will invest about as much as the other kits cost.

Really???? I'm young and Asian, I've never heard any of that. Dangit, now I'm gonna be self-conscious driving my 8.

But I agree with gh0st 100% on the lambo doors. If you like them, and you want them, go for it.

As for what gh0st said on the Greddy kit, I don't necessarily agree with that. Yes, the kit could use some help, but it does have some potential if you are willing to upgrade things like fuel and maybe mess with the tuning.

The PTP kit and all others have been on the "verge" of being released for 2 years now. When I bought my Greddy kit PTP told me their kit would be out within 2 months. I considered waiting for it, glad I didn't, that was two years ago.

The Greddy kit is much cheaper, especially with the Emanage Ultimate. The PTP kit will of course offer more power, but the greater % increase you do over stock, the more supporting mods you'll need. You're starting at $7500 for their kit, plus the fuel system, cooling upgrades, the new clutch you'll need, gauges... You'll drop around $10k to do it properly. While it isn't a bad idea to do those same mods with the Greddy kit, it isn't required if you keep the boost around 7 or 8psi. The Greddy kit can be done for around $5k with an Intx and gauges.

It really depends on what you want. The Greddy kit offers a nice power increase and makes the 8 a blast to drive. My car honestly drives like stock, and really pins you in the seat. If you want serious power and have the cash to blow, then the PTP kit is a great setup. Keep in mind, the more HP you add, the less reliable the car will be. Just a simple fact of life.

The best way to go, in my opinion, is buy a used Greddy kit. Over time take it as far as you can doing all the necessary supporting mods along the way. After you reach its limit, if you still want more, sell it and upgrade to something better once something is available. Then you've gained alot of experience, have all the mods in place for something bigger, and know full well what you're getting yourself into.

Just be aware that the Greddy kit will need several extras:

Also I thought the PTP kit was out already? In any case, I would wait for the Mazsport kit and/or the supercharger kits that will be out soon.

haha, thats funny that you would say "rice" as any japanese tuner car is generally considered to be "rice" or a "ricer" "rice rocket" among certain circles. Lambo doors will not change that fact.

If you like the lambo door look and the idea of it then go for it... however I do not know where you would go to get something like this done. Any visual mod comes down to your own personal preferance, it has to look good to you, not anyone else. If you like it then it will show and other people will most likely pay you respect, if you show it off and talk about it all the time then people will consider you a poser. So just get it if you want it and be happy with it

Bottom line: There are always going to be people out there saying they don't like it about any visual mod you do, the most important part is that you like the way it looks as it is your car.

I've never seen any pics of an 8 with lambo doors. How would that look with the rear door just sitting there?Seems kind of weird.

I'd love to see some pics if you do it, keep us posted!

Lambo doors

Lambo doors are an expensive piece of kit. I have seen several on other cars, and they always have some sort of problem with it. I would stay with the normal doors.

hey man if you wanna see an 8 with lambo doors try google image search. its quite interesting considering you have 2 doors in the air and then 2 suicide doors. i like it. i wont do it ( i dont like it that much) but i do think it looks interesting.

now. turbo. ok greddy is the most "popular" kit out right now. meaning most people who have a turbo have it. There are some problems with it true. there is a great thread you can find that is stickies when you go to major HP upgrades that contains the fixes for the greddy kit. You can get out a good 300 with a good tune. and beyond if you wanna put in money. PTP said their kit will give 360 to the average user. they tested a model and they say that it had 390... take that with a grain of rice. (no pun intended) i beleive their numbers, most people do. they are a reliable company. we have club memebers who drop by all the time there. here im from orlando. i have MAZSPORT a few hours away from me. so safe to say i know the kit im waiting for.
all in all since i know youll ask these questions. cold air intakes dont do much
exaust kits dont do much but are neccesary for a turbo
midpipe is oddly enough the biggest gain of any low priced mod.
i wouold say do a search for what you want to know. this is a great site and many questions have already been asked and answered, which is great cuz it makes it convienient to find answers to your questions as soon as you have it instead of posting and waitng for people to answer.

Just a thought- lambo doors are hella expensive. You could instead get a nice catback and midpipe or some headers, or an ecu mod. Personally, I would spend my money on upgrading the performance before playing with how the doors open.
