Turbo XS exhaust + catless midpipe?
Ok so I got tired of searching the threads and I'm asking the question directly.
Does anyone have this setup and what do you think of it? My car is an '05 NA "low power" (5 speed manual).
I'm looking to increase power as much as I can without major mods like turbo. Also stuff that can be reverted for the inspection. I heard some sound clips and I think the Turbo XS sounds really nice. I don't mind if it's loud, it's only a problem if it's so loud that it will alert the cops while driving in town.
Thanks,
catalin

I personally dont have it but from my knowledge from around here, it's quite a bargin. The only problem is the catback is about 4 inches too short and will melt your plastic shrouds, so you may want to add some tips to make them longer. Other than that, I've heard mainly good things about it.
Just a forwarning, a midpipe isnt for everyone. I have an RP on mine and I love it, however my passengers are always complaining about the smell; but I enjoy it so screw them

turboxs with 3" catless midpipe can be bought brand new for $400!
By far the best deal going, even if you have to get new tips installed.
if it's too noisy, install a pre muffler like I recently did.

A pre muffler, is it something like this one?

Can you recommend one and where to get it? What about the silencers? The Turbo XS comes with removable silencers. Do they do the job and are there any negatives?
Same question for the tips. Can anyone recommend a brand and where to get them? Especially if you know they deliver in Europe. Makes sense to order everything at once.
The pre muffler and tips, are they bolt on or do they require cutting and welding to have them added?
Sorry if I ask too many questions, I'm just trying to learn.

[QUOTE=mysql;2649718] That is my car and my video
I know, I figured it out Nice work!
Ok so if you replace the stock tips the silencers don't fit anymore. It makes sense. So the question that remains is where do I get a nice pair of tips?

i have the turbo xs catback since they were back ordered on the race pipe. but thankfully they are coming in stock this week!
the catback is pretty loud without the silencers. with the silencers its completely fine.
add a race pipe and im pretty sure you are looking for some serious noise. but we'll see.
fluid motorsports is offering the whole thing for $400? man, must be some sort of new deal, because turbo xs (i bought it directly from their store) sells it for $500.

i first decided to go with the turbo xs full set up with the cat less race pipe too but i ordered it and like 2 weeks went by and found out they never sent anything and weren't planing on it so tried again and same result. I decided to just spend the extra money and i went with the Agency Power full exhaust with race pipe included. I installed the whole thing myself with no problems and i absolutely love it. It is very loud but if you don't mind it go for it get a lot of heads turning for sure.

I put this on hold for a long time because Turbo XS didn't have it on stock. Now they do. The price is $500 with the race pipe but shipment to Switzerland costs $635 so $1200 in total + maybe import tax
Do you guys think it's worth it and what would be your next choices after Turbo XS? Anyone knows if some of the good exhaust manufacturers out there have dealers in Europe (Switzerland, France or Germany would be easiest)? Thanks.

ouch, international shipping! Maybe you can check out other places that sell TurboXS gear. They might charge more on the part, but maybe you can save more on shipping? Even if you get a diffferent exhaust, aren't you still going to have a problem with the shipping and tax?
Maybe try VividRacing.com, I think they sell TurboXS too. Or ebay.
As for worth it, I love the exhaust, but my car is turboed. On a NA car, I think you might have to do the premuffler mysql did, because I don't know if I can have it any louder than it currently is. I feel like it would definitely get unwanted attention if it was. I have it to make sure my whole turbo setup/engine can breathe and flow properly. If you just stick it onto an NA car, I have no idea what kind of gains you are looking at, but I can't imagine the whp gains to be enough to warrant that kind of cost.
However, if you are looking for power gains AS WELL AS making the car sound like a beast, then maybe... Honestly though, if power is what you want and you can't do better on the rates, maybe put the money away and save for a turbo, supercharger, etc somewhere down the road. Actually, a Nitrous injection kit might be perfectly suited to you. I have no idea how much a kit costs, but I can see it being in this cost area. And the items arent exactly long heavy metal pipes, so shipping should be far more manageable. Only thing I wonder about is if you have access to a place to obtain more Nitrous locally. ::shrug::
Sorry I could not be of more help.
