Turbo xs Garage header

Hey guys i have an 04 stock rx8 with only a decent intake, midpipe and catback. Do you think if I install this header it will gain me up a few bhp?

First, are you ever gonna go turbo? By the time you're done with all the mods on your NA it'll amount to almost the same as a cheap 2nd hand turbo kit, yet won't be half as fast. Took me a few purchases to come to this conclusion.

Second, are you asking for a comparison between this and other more expensive headers? If so, it possible that this cheaper one may not last as long, and may produce 2whp across the range instead of 3whp. So while it may not be the best performing header, it still represents reasonable value for money. Other products you might look at are Racing Beat header and BHR long tube header (still in pre-production but should be shipping by next Xmas lol, check out google "black halo racing facebook" for updates).

Third, to answer your question, a header will gain you a bit more power across the range and a lot more noise. My cheap Autobahn88 header is similar to the one above and it gave a most noticeable increase in the low-mid rev range (maybe 4whp). While it makes the car a bit faster and definitely improves pedal response I still wouldn't call the car "fast" The sound of the header is quite nice - like a bellowing buzz saw above 5krpm.

After the header, you'll probably want to get new spark plugs & BHR coils, then get a custom tune.

I'm far from an expert, but from all my reading you save a couple pounds on weight, and it makes it sound pretty sick. I think even the most expensive headers only yeild 5hp and are $1000 + and are straight from Japan. Personally if it was me, I would purchase on sound alone.

I bought these last summer and the sound is spectacular, fitment is extremely tight however and you will have to remove your engine mount to install it. If your car is high mileage that might be the thing that kills them. Order them along with a set of bhr street mounts and you'll be one happy camper
