Brain Damage, (I like the nickname XdeedubbX, thanks)
OMG, I can't believe you actually said that. This PROVES how closed-minded you truly are. Did you know that people on this forum have DRAMATICALLY different hp figures (per dyno sheets) on the EXACT SAME CAR???
-Nemisis 8 is one of the very very FEW people on this board who actually pulled 200rwhp while other are often sitting in the 148-165 range. Did you know that? did you bother to do the research?
Just because they're made from the same mold does not mean they are identical.
Honestly, just go dyno your car and you'll see for yourself.
So you believe two systems cut from the same cloth will not get close to the same results? Do you know how stupid that sounds? What kinda a variance could there be; 5%?

In the link I have provided you have two cars on the same dyno getting around the same results.

i am going with this..
the built a real 3" exhaust. and with the right header gasket it made some good #s.
but it with those good #s came the life of real real loud... i mean it was a straight pipe from header the mufflers...
and then, what doomed them... the tips were small and short and did not hang properly.. that was pointed out, and turbo xs said, what do you want looks or #s...
how much would it have cost to make the tips not look like ***?
well you can have both..
then i think they went with vivid racing. opps....
and now they are dumping it on ebay or anywhere they can...
but then what do i know...
beers

IMO the tips don't look like ***. Not all of us want bling tips sticking out. Personally I like my turboxs exhaust for the pure fact its somewhat of a sleeper(not judging by noise but by how the tips look) I don't have any trouble with hot or melting shrouds, and with the silencers installed, the exhaust is bearable for everyday driving....
just my input, i guess go ahead and continue your argument....

k, so my turboxs cat-back is installed.
p.s. Their install was SUPER easy and fitment on the hangers and placement was 100% solid with no missmatches.
as for the tips....
They stick out as far out as any other exhaust would (or at least the stock exhaust) I really dont see how it would cause burning other than the fumes rising when idle.
the right tip does stick out about half an inch more than the left tip for some reason.... nothing that cant be fixed. Im going to buy the exhaust guards and that should solve all of my problems.
as for sound....
surprisingly.... Its not THAT loud. I expected it to be a lot louder concidering that it has no Cat. I guess the turbo DOES make it quiet down a lot.
my 1st reaction:
12:00am Starting the car up for the 1st time. brob brob brob brob, loud idle, sounds awsome, but a tad loud.
Test Drive:
I hop on the FWY (5-N) and punch it in 2nd geat on the onramp.
w000000000000000hhh!! I start getting sideways.
3rd gear flys!
much diffrence? Not sure yet, my car always had *****![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Once the car is warmed up:
the idle is super quiet, Reves sound nice, WOT is still loud, but a Nice loud.
Backfires arent "Explosive", they have a nice pop to them.
Overall Im super happy with turboxs right now. If it wasnt for the people telling me about the burning bumper issue, i would say this is a perfect exhaust for a turbo engine.
(N/As might lose power with this exhaust)

I went outside to show my co-workers and they said, "oh, it looks stock!" then i fired her up. they said, "holly crap! It sounds like my Evo!!"
it trully DOES have a nice tone to it.
as for the silencers... thats probably the best thing to do if your an NA because you NEED some of that backpressure to give you power and torque.
and also for the fact that I bet its a lot louder with NA

The Turbo should still make it tolerable.

I had packing on my bumper for the first week maybe 2 weeks. I didn't really notice an increase in noise but I'm probably just deaf from the exhaust anyway...

my car is only really loud when its cold, once its warm, idle is bearly any louder than stock (sorta) and on the FWY its 100% quiet too, its only on WOT. and even then, its not SO bad. its totally cool.

quick question to anyone in the know, are there any shields available aftermarket, or will i have to have some fabbed if time does reveal a issue with heat damage?
