Ultimate goal of FI - does that mean a REVi would be useless?

Hello all,

Contemplating the next few steps I want to do with my RX8 in terms of mods and I'm thinking about getting a REVi, and perhaps lightweight flywheel/clutch.

My ultimate goal is to wind up with some type of forced induction (Turbo or Supercharging) however I'm playing the waiting game to see what Petit comes out with and a few others. (not going with Greddy)

The question I have is - say I get the revi intake, and 6 months later I'm ready to slap a turbo or supercharger into my RX8, would the RB Revi intake have to be taken off and not used due to space requirements? I dont want to drop a few hundred dollars for this intake and then 6 months later have to sell it off for practically nothing just to finally go FI.

Thanks!
Jeff

Do not get the REVi if you plan on going forced induction. Seems like all the kits I've seen use their own air intake.

the revi will block the intercooler, and the intake will be too long for the kit to work properly.

if you're going with a sc kit, like from petit, you might be able to retain it... but not the greddy turbo.

Thanks for the input.... so it's looking like I will just have to play the waiting game and finalize the whole FI thing before I start looking into the other things like that.

The reason I asked such a question is because I don't want to waste ANY money on something if im only going to use it for a few months... I'm not on a limitless budget so I have to choose my path wisely.

Looks like im scratching the REVi and AP Pulleys off my list... and looks like All weather floor mats, RB protector screens, HAWK Brake pads and RP's Short Shifter are the next in line instead of the other things :-p

I have the REVi, and am looking at the Petit... so hopefully what mysql said will hold true.

You could use the RB intake and when Richard is finished with the Axial Flow Super Charger you can then sell the RB intake.

On the upside you may not have the money or change your mind.

In the mean time you will have more HP and fun with the RB intake.
