Umnitza Intake Installed Video

hey so rickeo and i got a chance to install the umnitza intake today and i have mixed feelings about it. it has a deep burp sound at WOT at low RPM's but it tapers to a almost stock like sound. the install, well, it was interesting. the lack of instructions for intake were a little killer but all went well. the brackets that are supposed to hold the intake in do not fit on the new part. we also replaced most of the lights in the car including brake/reverse/interior lights. here is the link to the video:

Hmmm...it doesn't really have that deep sound that I liked before.

True, but it still sounds way different than the umnitza video clip.

LOL, you spent more time making and editing the vid than installing it, your neighbors were probably wondering what that knucklehead was doing running up and down the street WOT then slamming on the brakes

so why did you choose the narrow MAF tube over the wide one?

i chose the narrow one because of 2 reasons

1) Umnitza said to and
2) The tube is actually longer so the intake fits more flush up against the front of the engine bay.

ok, we cleared up alot tonight. The fatter one is the one that is in the car right now, there was some confusion until we put them side by side, ndtechie09 (brett) will be posting the pictures of that later tonight/tomorrow.

as Chris ^ said above, there was some confusion. the biggest discrepancy was the actual MAF housing tube. make sure you keep the 2 longer screws around the piece that connects to the filter on the bottom, you will need this to attach the anchors. i highly recommend using them or your intake will fly up and hit the hood.

update number i dont know theres been too many of em

I am still waiting for official word from Umnitza on which tube is correct. They said the one that is not installed is supposed to be the one but on the other hand they said to use the one that was not installed already and that would be the one that is on their currently. But so far so good. I'll be at the Tri-State RX-8 Club Meet April 22nd so if any of you guys are around and want to check it out, feel free to stop by

^ lol Well all I know is I made the 187 mile trip back to CT today and nothing has been triggered. Overall is has about 230 miles on it. I'm going to swap out the tube this weekend to see if it makes ANY difference at all.
