slvr the small coolant hose that goes to the top of the overflow has a brass? restrictor in it. its about the size of a pencil eraser with a hole in the middle of it. iirc the bottom heatercore hose also has one but its much larger

I substitued a fluid cooler thermostat to my small secondary radiator as the restrictor ( the internal passages in the thermostat is the same size and the restrictor plug hole). It has made a difference in temp stability. Maybe the water pump needs a little head pressure, or maybe without a restrictor the heater hose is removing too much coolant from getting to the radiator? IDW which........yet.

Just reviving this thread, for anyone interested in a electric water pump
Here is a small info page and the manufacturer explaining the water pump through a video.
Effectively it replaces your mechanically driven water pump with one that is electronically driven, basically looks like a water turbo.
PRI 2010: Davies, Craig Electric Water Pump
The controller unit it comes with effectively takes out your thermostat, you set from the 5 option of what water temp you want, the computer calculates your current water (165f, 175f, 185f, 195f, 205f) temperature and once it detect it goes 3c or 5.4f over your selected temp it will engage different speed settings in the pump and/or your fan controls if you wired them in.
The pump is operates through that control module.

Meaning a *stated* up to 20hp, also better fuel efficiency.

More HP, less parasitic drag, more MPG, more cooling power than OEM mechanical pumps and no TSTAT needed are great perks, both electric and mechanical can fail, I have a Davies Craig EW80 and no controller needed, got the pump to turn on and off via Haltech DPO at my desired temps just like the fans standalone controlled, I also have a red LED fail safe light to turn on at a high temp in case the pump fails. I've sold the Renesis engine since, for the swap FD engine in my STARXQUEST that is.. I got the EWP plate as shown for the Renesis with AN fittings and the proper belt to make fit, no hoses included tho, for sale I don't need anymore if anyone is interested for $115 shipped, paypal.
