What about the fujitsubo's exhaust ?

Hi guys i'm french and i'm looking for an exhaust for my RX8.

I had read all your threads about different exhaust (wow very long time to read all the threads) and i saw that you all were talking about :
- HKS
- Greddy
- Borla
- B&B
- Racingbeat

but why anybody ask question about the fujitsubo's?

in french we don't hear about Greddy, Borla, B&B and Racingbeat, everybody told me to buy the fujitsubo or the HKS.

what's your opinion about the fujitsubo?

When you guys bought your exhaust how do you choose between each exhaust, i heard the greddy and it sound very nice but maybe tips are too big.

as far as the exhausts go..they don't make that much power in the 8 so it all depends on how much you want to spend and how it looks..

i think i don't want to spend much than 1700€ for the exhaust and the mid pipe.

Don't know if the price are the same in France and in US.

Is the fujitsubo more expensive than the other?

That dyno does not look like a dyno for an RX8. The power is dropping off WAY before redline.

The HKS is over priced IMO but their quality is good.

Check out what the shipping to Paris is for the B&B and others. It's going to be a lot less total cost than 1700€.

Personally I went with the RX8Store.com system and I'm very happy with it. Email them too about shipping to France.

Good luck! Let us know what you decide.

lot less than 1700€? hu here it's the price :D

you're lucky for the price and for the products too, here are nothing for the RX8.

everybody told me to buy the fujitsubo because it seems to be a specialist for japan cars. Same for HKS.

Greddy, Borla, etc... are more US product, here in France it's not as know as HKS and fujitsubo

Greddy is Japanese. Anyways, my friends own a company in Germany called battleparts. They have the HKS Legamax for 1399 Euro. http://www.battleparts.com/

just a question because i don't understand some words in english (i'm french)

mmmh. just to know, how do we call the 2 pieces ?
- the first is the 2 tubes which go out behind the car ?
- the second the tube below going from the 2 tubes to the catalyse (don't know if catalyst is the right word)

so for the HKS legamax you're talking about, is it the 2 pieces? or just the first i'm talking about?

and for you all, did you remove you catalyst?

The catalytic (called "Cat") converter stays. The New exhaust bolt to the cat.

Check this too... Exhaust System at RX8Store

I looked at a currency converter and you can get a nice exhaust for about $600 EUR. I do not know what shipping will cost.

"Cat back" means the exhaust system begins from the Cat to the end of the exhaust. Everything before the Cat is left alone.

ok so the cat back is only in one piece from the cat to the end of the exhaust ok

i found something really interesting. i just have to let him my car for 2 weeks and he can build en exhaust and a new sport cat for only 1200€ but i have 3 questions :
- if i replace my cat by a sport one, what about the 2 (probe?) juste before and after the cat. Do i need to put them back after the install or do i need to put 2 new (porbe?) ?
- what about an exhaust not from greddy, borla, fujitsubo, hks... but an exhaust from someone who prepare Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Renault (:D), ...?
- what are the original tips size and the mid pipe size?

You need to use an O2 sensor or "fooler". Sorry, I do not know much about these.

These guys make systems for exotics... BB Exhausts

- what are the original tips size and the mid pipe size? [

76.2 Millimeters for the stock tips. The tube size is 63.5 Millimeters

On serious note ... I think it is the best one so far. Modest sound. Big power conc at mid and low end torque - what more do you want?

HKS - expensive, Blitz - too ugly (IMO). But I don't mind any of those.

Hey if they throw her in the exhaust packing I will pay up today!

in france the fujitsubo's is about 1200€ and the HKS about 1500€ so for 300€ if the HKS is better i prefer to take the HKS. When I pay for something more than 1000€ i prefer to add 300€ more to have best products

If it's one of the best, why nobody had a fujitsubo? i saw that lot of people on this forum have a borla

HKS for RX-8 is the Legamax range - it is made to be loud. If it is your thing then it is ok. 88 dB at idle and 92-93.
It is about 86 and 90 dB in Fujitsubo

HKS is 100 mm dia. Certainly will fill the hole at the back.

Fujitsubo is quiet at low end and louder at high end and it is made to concentrate on low and mid rev range - I admire that point.

They promise to introduce the girl to me if I buy the exhaust - just kidding D

Fujitsubo seems to be very nice, it's just what i'm looking for because cop and exhaust are not friendly here, so have a concentrate sound at low and mid rpm is nice.

Think i'll buy the fujitsubo
HKS is maybe too big and too loud

If i buy the exhaust before than you, will they give me the girl? :D

ok so if i repeat all it mean that :

1/ the stock tips size is : 76.2 Millimeters
2/ the stock tips tube is : 63.5 Millimeters
3/ the fujitsubo for RX8 is the Legalis R right?
4/ What is the tips size and the tube size for fujitsubo?
5/ for the fujitsubo is it from the cat to the end? or only the muffler ?
