What is the better idea
I love my rx8 and so do the kids at school but i get mocked for having 250 at the crank and 218 roughly at the wheels
I have been debating any mods for my car. I want a bit of a hp and/or torque boost. But i do not want to go into turbo or supercharger quite yet after my bro's mistake with his 3000gt
I was thinking a new intake, new exhaust.
I was looking online at the srmotorsports power packages
i was thinking of the gt4
any other ideas?
any help is gratefully appreciated

If some intake and exhaust noises will impress your knowledgeable friends sufficiently, by all means have at it. Just don't tell them it does pretty much diddlie for HP and torque.
On the other hand it may help the cars mid and high range response, but ultimately add little to no Hp and torque if you're only looking for raw dyno numbers.
If you and everyone at school loves your 8, why don't you just laugh at the mockers, they are obviously just looking for something, just anything to get under your skin.... or SC or turbo it.

Lol you will never get respectable numbers with just intake , exhaust etc. You will have to go FI , and just out of curiosity what happened to your bros 3000gt? Probably his fault right? Not tuning it correctly or something.
PS: its more like roughly 180 whp not 218 haha.

so it's a little on the slow side but i can transport four cool people, look good doing it and get the cool looks to go with it!any other car can't touch the class of a two door turning into a four door back to a two door and damm good lookin too!!WOOT WOOT!also there too young to really see the lines of sweetness not speed.in the school zone it's safety first not speed and my daughter(15)friends love the car not the speed.this is more important to her friends than speed for some have lost family and friends for a few show off moments!live and learn you need not show off to be remembered.

I'll tell it like this. These rednecks around here drive up next to me in their v8 trucks, pipes, and lift kits. They slam on the gas as they leave me in the dust at red lights. At the end of the day my car handles and looks better.

Your problem is you care what stupid high school kids think, but then again you're a high school kid so that might be why.
For one, as stated, you don't have 218 at the wheels. Most likely you'll dyno in the 180-190 range at the wheels. But lets not forget that some members have dyno'd even less than that stock.
An intake will give you 1-3hp probably, at most, or absolutely none at all depending on which one you get. Catback exhaust will do relatively nothing as well, but if you get a high flow cat and or catless midpipe you'll get a little power.
Mazda did a pretty good job maxing out this cars power with their intake/exhaust setups. You can get a better intake and exhaust but it just wont do much. You need to spend money to get noticeable power out of this car.
My suggestion is not care what others think.
