I was wondering what the gearing is in the rear end of the 8? Would this car not benefit from lets say 4:44 gears? Just so it can rev up faster, should shave some time off the quarter. I know it will raise the rpm's at cruising speeds and effect milage, but if I wanted good milage I would have bought a Hybrid.

what is the third gear ratio for j-spec? if you want to rev faster, reduce the rotational weight (lightened flywheel).

 

That's what I'm wondering now. From what I've researched, the car pulls pretty strong in first and second and falls off in 3rd compared to it's competitors like the 350z.

 

i heard the feed final gear helps the car pull much harder in 3rd.

 

Yeah my guess is it would definitely help the car zip through 1st and 2nd a lot quicker and definitely keep it pulling harder in 3rd.
