Dastallion, of all your posts this is the best one. It makes you sound thoughtful while your normal style makes you come across as wannabe-ish.

I do look forward to your vid.

Also, on youtube:

Hits 244 kph = 151 kph. He was still going but had to slow down.

Btw I wonder what tires could over that limit???
Taken from tirerack.com our stock tires are rated to W.

W = 168 mph / 270 kph

How is this not good enough?

According to Mazda Sweden the topspeed is 235 km/h (146 mph). That is what is written in the technical specification. If this is a drag limit or electrical limit i dont know. I have only had her up in 210 km/h (130 mph) (there were some turns on the autobahn that stimulated me to press on the gas instead of crawling about in 160 km/h (100 mph))

Not saying that the tires are not good just that if that person was travelling at 290km/h like one member claimed, wouldnt he have to change to better rating tires?

i've had mine to 143, and although it was definately getting sluggish compared to 100, it didnt feel like i was getting too close to maxing out

no u also gotta remember u dont need racing tires on it just tires that are Z rated, if there z rated and as long as they have a high enough load speed rating on the tires, then yea u can top off the car just make sure u set the tire psi a few psi lower then whats recommended becuz those tires r gonna get hot as hell

Roger that. Will see if I can hit close to 270km/h (on the drag runway) before thinking of looking at Z-rated tires.

funny eviltwinkie not like i have anythin to prove to u, but i mean i just get my car back after 7 weeks in the shop now the clutch is fucked n A/C dont work......n riverside metro mazda, they of course were no help, the insurance company isnt goin to pay for a new clutch which of course got damaged considerin 3 days of tryin to drive it when i get back fri afternoon n its right back to mazda mon mornin, they had it for a week, n cant fix the clutch becuz its supposedly my fault. the ac issue they cant check out becuz i have an aftermarket head unit, when the ac worked fine prior to the accident....so now i gotta have my mechanic at work replace the clutch since i have no free time to do it... got a brand new clutchmasters clutch for 200 up side to gettin parts at cost. n gonna take it to norco mazda on tues on my day off for the ac diagnosis issue.

152 Stock 05 AT. Maybe 148 after correcting the speedo, but not less; speedo is more on at higher speeds.

I remmeber them saying that the 8 is drag limited. So if you have a head wind your top speed will be lower.

No its not limited in any way other than the amount of power vs. the aero drag

Speedo accuracy?

How accurate is the speedometer in the 8 at speeds above 100mph?
I know that bikes are very optimistic, my bandit 1200 pinned the speedo (170mph) easily enough, but I know the bike could only do 151mph (clocked w/ radar gun).

Maybe these 160+ people have optimistic speedometers???

last night i took it on a 2 mile straight (estimating) and it got to 149 and then the road started goin up slightly but enough to keep me from accelerating. this was in 6th gear at about 8k or 8.2k rpm. im a little disappointed at how long it takes to get from 110 to 149. i hit 110 in less than the first half of a mile and it took me the rest of the time to get 39 mph but its the slowest from 135 to 149. it was fun though.
