What'd you pay for your catback install?

i'm trying to get a better idea of what shops charge..a recommended place here in orlando is going to charge $160, which i think is too much.

if it's just bolt-ons, it should be cheaper right? i'm looking for $100 or less. feedback would be greatly appreciated...

thank you...

nothin.....do it yourself. It isn't that hard if you have a garage and some basic tools.

go to pep boys and buy yourself a hydraulic jack and 4 jack stands...this should only cost you like 70-80 bucks or pay a little more for some better ones...and with that you can use them for whatever and whenever you want

All you need that you shouldn't have already is a pair of ramps. They're cheap at Auto Zone....

I used the ramps and thought they were the easiest. Just get yourself the ramps, a BIG CAN of WD40 for those damn hangers, a long flathead screwdriver and I'm sure you have some socket wrenches.......piece of cake really.

True. I had it put on since the place I got it form has a lift and did it for basically, free, but it's VERY easy to do. Since then I have removed my Greddy and put it back in to fix a rattle I had and it took maybe 15 minutes to get out and another 15 to put back in. Use some ramps as they are easy and cheap. DOnt pay 160 bucks. For that much you can put me up for the night and I'll drive to you with my ramps and do it

Of course, we must go to a roller coaster park afterwards. On you.

Didnt say it would be cheaper :D

160 is alot of cash for the install. Give it a shot your self and worse case is if you cant do it then you can pay someone to do it. I think you could handle this job. Yes get some lawsons,wd40, or jb 80 also a big *** prybar to get the hangers off.

I am going to do it myself....getting the Greddy SP2 full cat-back unit. The thing already costed me $540, i am not about to pay 100 more dollars for some jackass to install it.

thanks for the replies...i think i will be going the self-installed route then.. i'll get me some ramps and drag my roommate out to the garage one day..

Oh, and Genom, thanks for the offer lol..but no, seriously..if you're ever in the orlando area lemme know..let's see if we can't get an orlando meet together or something, i don't know..

i grew up in miami and live in pines now, so likewise, if i head down we could try to organize something..

thanks again, everyone for the helpful replies...

If you're gonna have a shop with proper lifts install it, don't pay more than 1 hour's worth of labor.

Dunno if you want to spend that kinda money 310guy, but I'm game for a road trip!

Of course, 4 days worth of food, gas and lost wages might be a tad more expensive than a local install for ya.

Then again, it IS cali so you never know...

:D
