Hey Pat .. I love the RB.
My tips get a little dirty over time, but I do not recall a 'golden' look.
Maybe I did not notice. I clean them all the time.
They clean up very quickly with 'Never Dull' - best stuff in the world for tips.. IMHO.

How did my RB's sound when you were behind me ?

did I mention I used to be a Field Engineer with Snap On tools and Sun Electric?

now I just went back to school to get out of electrical engineering and getting into Civil Engineering with a math minor..... monkey says what?

you obviously didn't read my post on stainless steel grades...

to dumb it down for you...Racing Beat's brown/gold because they used a lower quality stainless steel...longevity of the product is not a consequence but asthetics is.

Let me add another to your list........the RX8Store exhaust (its actually a Magnaflow system). I've had it for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it! Very deep and throaty but not overpowering. Have to say I love hearing the pop between shifts at 5-6k! Consider this one also!

Racing beat has demonstrated the most sound and complete performance research,,,,,hence you will get the most bang for the buck as that will dumb it down for those who choose to pontificate and walk with a cape and a walking stick

the amount of reading i did lead me to believe taht b&b had the most documented hp gain. i dont know if this is true or not.

i have one, and it sounds awesome, definitely louder tahn the greddy exhaust, but the workmanship on the b&b is only so-so.

and my tips are just a little bit gold around the edges, i like the way it looks.

actually a lot of racing beat owners have mentioned that the exhaust does weigh more than stock. Hmm weight = negative on performance?

I had posted a listing sometime last year from a JDM mag. It'll give you an idea of where they all sit... RB wasn't out at the time and USDM weren't included. You should be able to find it with a little searching.

Those vendor claims on hp are a joke. You can't get 20 whp from tearing the WHOLE exhaust system out, let alone just the cat back.

I've been asking myself this same question for over a year and I've yet to find and exhaust worth buying. I've emailed alot of places that sell exhausts asking for their weights and I very rarely get any response. If I can find an exhaust this is a few pounds lighter than stock AND see a dyno to see that it at least doesn't lose HP then I might buy one.

well, I finally made a decision and decided to go with the Borla....I have an appt for this tuesday at my local speed and muffler shop.....I'll let you know how I like it.....Im really not looking for an extreme increase in HP......bottom line is I'm having fun doing some mods that arent extreme and I can afford...more to follow..

well I'll one up you; I'm an ME and work in the stainless business :p

all stainless will turn brown initially if it get's hot enough, then, bluish-purple,then dark gray

it wll depend on how much heat the muffler dissipates before it get's to the tips
