Whats the cheapest way to add HP?
Simple question, what is the cheapest way to add some juice to my RX-8. Don't know much about modifications, don't have much money. Whats the best solution to increase horse power by 10-30HP?

I hate it when ppl reply with humorous answers.
Best way to go is get your midpipe done and get a canzoomer unit and tune it to get the most hp. Otherwise you should get a turbo.
Oh and nitrous

Now for a serious answer.
Like all other mods, the applicability and value of such is wholly dependent on your particular use and/or expectation. Some other mods, however, are universally beneficial albeit at some expense. A universal upgrade would be the Racing Beat swaybar set. These are very affordable, easy to install, and they tend to cure that nagging wheelhop problem the RX-8 has. To remove the wheelhop will make the car quicker, faster, and more reliable due to less stress on the drivetrain. If you can handle a slightly firmer ride, then the Racing Beat springs are also a good choice as they are intended to work with the stock dampers and are also easily affordable. They also provide roughly a 1/2 inch drop in ride height. Of course, if you are a serious racer or modifier, there is always the option of coil-overs from companies such as JIC or HKS.
As far as power-producing mods go that is where the greatest subjectivity is found. Many people have installed a turbo kit on their RX-8's, and with a decent level of power boost. These kits run around $3,000-$3,200 on-line and take a while to install. Nitrous oxide, on the other hand, provides the same boost level for one-third the cost and is much easier to install. The differences in use and applicability is where the subjectivity comes in. The are a few other threads that cover that discussion already.
The key in any effort at modifying your car is to first have a vision as to what your desired outcome is. Then, any subsequent choices will hold the greatest value for you. If you would like greater detail, p.m. me amd I can tell you what has worked, or not, for me.
