UPDATE:
1. I tried grounding everything that is mobo and psu at different places on my chasis but nothing helped. The strange thing is that in the process i accidentally ran my computer without a wire attached to m2-atx psu and the computer was working okay? How can psu run without grounding this is really strange for me.
2. I connected my speakers with my ipod and there was no distortion.
3. I connected my mobo with a headphones and again there was no distortion.
I will try to find a good ground loop isolator here and see where things go from there.

Great guid man. I would love to see some vid of it in action. For those who cannot get the OEM nav unit here is another option. It took me forever to find this but it is complex and I will probably breakdown and get the Nav unit anyway but it is an option:

This dude fabricated the entire thing and posted how to build install and where to get the parts. Enjoy

Great post Hussain! I just wanted to check to see if anyone knows of a program that may work with Centrefuse that reads tire sensors and other such novelty information.
Thanks

Thread Update:
Q: How to get the OBD Gauges shown here integrated into my carpc?
Ans.You can do so by either using DashCommand software which costs about 25 dollars or use a centrafuse plugin called OBDII Gauge v2 . However there are no Good premade skins available for these softwares yet. I am trying to find out one but as yet no success. Alz0rz has made one but does not want to share it.
Q: How to get Performance Parameters i.e. 0-60 mph, 1/4 mile time integrated into my Carpc?
Ans.You actually have two options here, either via OBD or via GPS.
To do it via OBD you shall have to get Digimoto software (there might be others which i don't know about). Beware that i don't recommend using this software because it does not integrate very well with centrafuse. If someone comes across a better software please post here.
Doing this via GPS is relatively easy because there is a plugin for centrafuse called Laptimer which does the
So if anyone comes across or makes skins for any of the two softwares mentioned in question 1, please update here.
Also if there is better software for reading performance parameters such as 0-60 via OBD also please update here.

I will let go of the skin soon.. i've had soooo many people Pm me about it here/youtube/mp3car..
PP is soon going to release a new version of DashCommand to allow scripted PIDs to be displayed.. I will rework my skin to include a AFR/MPG gauge and I will release my current skin.

Excellent write up . I've been following most of it and have had great luck. I'm getting pretty close to being ready to install my car pc, however I have a question for all. No matter how I try this search I don't get the results I am looking for.
I already have the stock GPS Nav installed, based on that is it possible to hook the new car computer to the stock GPS receiver?

Not worried about the not worth it part, want to know how. I am interested in aesthetics, and sticking a $35 gps receiver on the front or back dash is not aesthetically pleasing. I'll do it if that is the ONLY choice, but if I can hook to the stock GPS receiver that is already aesthetically installed then I will.

David
