There are two things about the Greddy turbo kit that I'm not wild about--the sponge air filter and the fact it's sitting exposed to the hot engine bay air. Since it's directly in front of the fresh air duct it isn't that bad when the car's moving but at slow speeds or idle it's sucking in lots of hot air. That can cause light engine pinging (aka detonation) which is never a good thing. Although enclosing the filter in the stock airbox restricts the air flow, most of that air will be cooler which is a good tradeoff.

I did this mod 4 months ago, see this thread. Not many people showed interest in it.
Good writeup. What did you do with the 3rd hose that was connected to the airnix. I put a breather filter on the end as seen in this pic.

My next "cooling" mod is to somehow shield the intake manifold from the hot turbo. My heat tape has fallen off and I haven't found a solution.
After that, I may look into a vented hood.

I know it's been done before but no one seemed to have a comprehensive DIY with cutout locations, K&N filter p/n and everything else in a single writeup. My airnix filter didn't have an extra hose connected to it. I don't know what it's for--chances are my installer did something better than what Greddy's instructions suggested.

I'd heard about the filter in the bumper concept but didn't know anyone who actually made it work. I may try that but keep the stock airbox. I'm big on stealth and keeping the airbox allows me to keep the engine cover as well. With all that plastic you can't tell anything's been modified.
