DIY: Make your front Rotary Accent glow!
Ok. I read a thread about installing a neon light in order to light up your front rotary crest, well, I brain stormed and come up with a simple, hidden, very cool looking way to do this. First, take a LED, i used purple, and install it just above the crest under the grill. There is a small square hole directly above and in front of the crest. Simply, adhere the led to the inside of the bumper, run your wires and presto, it looks awesome. Here are some pics of what it looks like. OH, I did the fog light rewire, but hooked it up to the parking light relay so the fog lights only work when the parking lights are on. So, the accent lights up with the parking lights.... LEt me know what you guys think. Pics took with camera phone so sorry for the poor quality... L8Ter, Jason

Very nice install Jason. Seems easy enough. Anyway if you don't mind me asking, what parking light bulbs and fog light bulbs do you have? It seems to fit in nice with the headlights. Where you got them, the kind, price, and color would be great, if you can supply me with that info. Thanx in advance and nice job!

Like the accent, though. Nice and subtle. I think green would look pretty good on mine. I bet you can do something similar with the rear accent, too... :D

This seems like a fairly illegal mod.. no? I luv it.. want it.. but don't want a ticket for it...
I think adding an interior switch for the light might be smart so you can shut it off if you get pulled over. If it's directly hooked to the parking light you'd have to take it home and unhook it.

The higher power LED you use, the brighter it'll be. If you get standard 20mA LED's, you'll need to use several. If you use a power LED (up to 1A,) 1 will be more than enough.
You'll also need dropping resistors. The value and wattage will depend upon your LED choices.
