DIY oil meter pump leaking front cover

I searched and found some minimal info on this and didn’t want to buy a new one. My pump was leaking before it blew up and once I installed new engine it continued to leak a small amount. Hard to trace this as it’s such a small part with so many point of entries.

Remove air box (more room) battery and battery box.

clean the area where it’s leaking with simple green or degreaser. I Blew it dry with compressed air after I sprayed water on it to rinse.

use a short stub screw driver or a small ratchet setup. Break all four bolts loose then carefully take one out at a time.

before removing all bolts I placed something under the work area in case anything was dropped. An oil pan on the floor to catch any oil coming from the front cover.

IMPORTANT to note there are two pin setups with springs behind this front cover plate. I don’t have a pic of this but use your imagination if someone can’t supply pics. The last two screws you will have to hold the cover in and carefully take the last two out without losing your internal parts.

once off oil will run out of the chamber for a little bit. I used paper towels once it slowed up to soak at the bottom.

Once I cleaned the cover along with the o ring I used the Mazda gray rtv gasket maker and put a small bead against the o ring gasket on the outside of the cover. I dried the pump side once more and carefully using both hands held the plate while starting each small screw.

this fixed my leak and I hope it saves everyone in the future money but more importantly a greasy mess.
