My rattle list.
1.Rear view mirror vibrates and rattles on all road services.
2.The driver side far left vents rattle. My fix is to use my fist and pound on the dash every few days to make it go away. LOL..
3.My glove box rattles, fixed by getting 1/4 thick tissue paper between the rubber bumper and glove box and then closing the glove box.
4.My moonroof rattles when in the vent position on ruff roads.
Most of the rattles all started about 12,000 miles and now I’m up to 35000 miles. I think moonroof issue and rearview might get covered by dealer, but have not inquired yet

I'm taking off the rear deck on Saturday and I'll be trying to figure out where that damn rattle is coming from.
NMOcho: you're correct in that the Sunroof rattle has a TSB for it. Not sure about the rearview but I'd assume it's covered as well. I had the sunroof TSB done and it's a bit time consuming for the dealership because they remove the roof lining so make sure to schedule it in advance with your Tech.

My car has 800 miles and I have noticed three rattles already
1. Lower left back of the steering wheel rattle. It will stop when I push up with my left hand.
2. Center Stereo section. Sounds like it's coming from the back of the CD Player of the tape/md player location
3. Roof rattles when I open the moonroof sliding cover.
Do you think the dealer will fix it?

FE9000:
-Center streo rattle might be from the bose speaker? (up on dashboard if you have Bose)
-Roof rattle is just when you open sliding cover? Or when sunroof is open? If it's when it's open, there's a TSB out for that.

- Yes I do have Bose Speakers. Interesting, I will check it out.
- Yes, it rattles when I only open the sliding cover and the sunroof is not open. I will check it out to see if it rattles with it's open.
Thanks for all your info. I am in Irvine. So when you see a White with Appreance Pkg, tinted windows and Escondido Mazda plate in OC anywhere. Wave, It's me! :-)

rear window creak help
took my car three times to the service dept in tustin, CA to fix REAR WINDOW CREAK, and they can't find the problem. replaced a bunch of parts and the creaking is still there. anyone definitively find the solution to this problem or know a dealership that knows how to fix it so i can show these guys? i'm not savvy enough to take my car apart to find it myself. tired of driving rentals while they poke and prod my lovely 8!

I have a rattle on the driver's side (left) that is associated with the little compartment there (not sure what it is for). The compartment is left of the steering wheel and kind below the dash near the DSC off button. It has a little hinged door. I ripped the door off and it rattles slightly less but it is still annoying.

im not pushing my sub very hard, so i have no rattle in the trunk. but i do have a HORRIBLE rattle in my heat shield above the mufflers. i dont think its noticable when i have the music off, but if i turn it up JUST enough to hear in the cab, the heat shield rattles bad.
luckily i cant hear it inside the car, so everyone else will just have to look at me like i'm ghetto

I have a dash rattle or more like a buzz that comes right around the same area, almost like it's coming from somewhere around behind the centre air vents. It only seems to occur at higher speeds. Anyone else have this one? Suggestions?

I have a rattle only when it is cold under the passenger side dash near the defrost vent. It almost sounds like a nut bouncing around on metal under the dash. I have attempted to remove the airbag dash piece but have had no luck. I have removed the glovebox, then can pull up slightly at the where the top edge of the glovebox meets the dash and it pops up. After that I am concerned about just pulling up with the airbag system there. Anyone else attempt to remove the passenger dash piece with luck? I have taken it in several times to the dealer but by the time I get there it has gone away.

I've got a rattle somewhere in the front driver side of the car. sounds like head shielding or something, and only happens at 15+ mph, and when I go over brick cross walks/roads or lane reflectors. I cant find anything loose. Rattles like hell when I drive down Camp Bowie (historical brick road in Ft. Worth)

Mine's a 2007 GT, bought it new. Have noticed 4 rattles so far (3800 miles):
1)- Rearview mirror. But it doesn't bother me enough to fix it yet. The rubber cement fix seems like it would work
2)- The gauge cluster or something behind it.
3)- Something else in mid-dash area (could be the center speaker)
4)- AND THIS IS THE ONE THAT'S KILLING ME: A plastic on plastic very light, chattering sound. Happens whenever the car is moving. 5MPH or 50MPH. I've put felt in between the door panels and the door and this seemed to help, but it's still there. I've removed the suicide door handle trim thinking that was it, NOPE. I'm going to try more felt, it really sounds like the door panel is just rubbing against the door. Could be something else though, hard to pinpoint. I had my GF ride around in the back and listen for it, she couldn't locate it. ARRRRGGGHHHH. I hate rattles and I can live with a few that don't occur regularly, but the one in the door is driving me mad. I don't believe it's the one Pollak mentioned.

Does it sound kind of like a cricket? I have something like that on my passenger door. I've found that i can reproduce it by bouncing on the door frame with the door open. If I lean over and put my hand on the door just below the glass I can make it stop while driving, but then i cant shift.

No, actually this doesn't sound like a cricket. It's a chattering sound.
I actually just confirmed that it's 2 different sounds. 1 was from inside the door. I took off the panel (not hard) and wrapped all the exposed cables in cloth. That fixed the chattering.
There was another sound, I thought it was the rubber molding, but it was actually the seatbelt rubbing against the stitching in the seat. I reclined the seat a bit and that fixed it.
Wish I could help with the crickets. That would drive me nuts.

I think there's a DIY. If not, there is a thread for the fix on this forum. The basic idea is that you remove it from the car, separate the two pieces and fill the seam with rubber cement. The creaking you hear is actually the two pieces rubbing.

There is a DIY for gauge cluster removal that fixes the rattle there. I did it myself and it works and stays quiet.

#@$#@!%^$#@#&^%$#*&@^$#!%! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the rear deck is KILLING me. It's almost as if it's gotten worse over the months. I need to start tearing things out soon...
Problem is I've tried that once and had no luck. I had both seats out, the rear deck removed, AND a friend of mine stuffed in the trunk. No luck locating it.
I'd jump in there but at 6'5, 225 lbs I stand no chance of fitting in the trunk.
