Hi there. I got lucky recently and scored a whole S2 front end for a very low price. There is not much documentation online in doing this conversion so I went ahead and did my own. I did it through my YouTube channel in 2 parts.
Part 1 covers removing the S1 front end and installing the S2 fenders. I also found out that the S1 fender liners do fit the new S2 fenders. So that saves us money.
I also wanted to make the wiring simple so I made my own wiring diagram to share with you all.
I hope this helps anyone that is currently doing an S2 front end conversion or for people interested in how much work it is just to do this. If you have any questions, please feel free to hit me up.
P.S. At the end of Part 2 of my YouTube video, you can see I tested the new headlights and everything is functioning the way its supposed to be.
Yep, you will need both the side marker harness and main headlight connector, but you wont need to use the big connector to the headlight as it connects already IF your S1 already came with Xenons. As for those owners with S1 non xenon headlights, from what I read there is a bit of moving the wires around to get it working. Hit me up on Facebook or my Instagram (Freemadc2) and we can chat about it. Ill be glad to help you out
Yep Front bumper bolts right up, but just found out recently that you will be needing the bottom trays for the S2 front conversion. I just posted a new video yesterday on installing dual oil coolers and I show my R3 bumper mounted. You can see the S1 bottom tray not lining up . Thanks for the support and looking forward to add more DIYs here.
BTW, I just found out from one of my subscribers, if you are swapping your front end with a JDM S2 front end, there are turn signals in the headlights. We only have them for the USDM version.
