Yet another mod – Silvered Fender Vents on Winning Blue
Yep, yet another idea taken from the site. I’m only sorry I wasn’t here sooner in the process of gathering all the information the users of the site have compiled to help. But I certainly don’t mind learning from your experiences either!
Anyway, pics in the garage are not the greatest, but when there’s no sun day or night, what you gonna do.
From the rear …

rxeightr,
I'm happy with the way they turned out. So , yeah. I personally don't like the contrast between black and blue so to me this is much better. But I don't know that I'm going to do any other parts in silver.
syntrix,
Yes
Tire Rack Info
They have Dunlop Winter Sport M3 235/45HR18 on them thanks to this thread.
Hope that's the info you are looking for.
RX8FanMan,
Yep, just ordered them. Thanks!

Looks good and I totally agree with 'rx8fanman' - the clear corners would set the whole look off - would complete the look if you will - if you decide to add the clear corners please post pics for us to see.

so would it be safe to say you will be painting the rear bumper parts that are black and making them silver. believe it or not i have been debating on doing this to my lighting yellow 8. either that or i will be color matching it.

I was looking at that and the front grill over lunch. As of right now, I think it would be too much. I assume there will be some after market grills before too long. I think the best way to dress up the rear is with a new exhaust but no plans for now. I was thinking about getting the chrome gas cover, but since these aren't chrome, I don't think I will. No not painting that silver either! The paint I used was a silver wheel paint. Wanted something that "shined" a little.
As for your lightening yellow, I would match color for it. Also, leaving it makes a nice contrast too IMO. I always liked black against yellow.

Jhouse - If you were to paint the lower bumper on your yellow 8, I would be the first to want to take a look. I have thought about that and requested a photoshop on another thread. I would really like to see how that would turn out. VividRacing, color matched their Ti 8 and I thought that it looked great. Please keep me posted if you go down that route.
rx-8ter - I think that the fender vent is a great and unique look on our 8's and it's meant to compliment the flared front fenders. I would leave them as is on your silver. IMO the silver fenders work the best on black, which someone on this forum did a month ago or so.
To each there own I always say and if you decide to go with it, post some pics so we can take a look.

Hmm... looks cool... but wonder how it would look if just the border was done with the paint. Should highlight the area but keep the black look... photoshop anyone? If you squint at it, it looks kinda like only the border is painted, n i like it! something to think about when i go n buy the paint for my emblem n back grill...
