Suggested price appears to be $119.

So they just let out a new Sportster today. This new Starmate this October. Wonder if they are doing another Starbase model as well.....???? (Still want the hardwired FM transmitter instead of the wireless).

No announcement of a new starbase. They announced 4 units, Starmate3, Starmate4, Sportster3, and Stilletto.

The Starmate 4 is the one I've shown. MSRP 119 is correct.

Starmate 3 is supposed to be 100, has no replay feature and is black/gray with a yellow/orange screen.

Sportster 3 will look similar to the current sportster and have the same color layout as the starmate 3, but apparently more/better features, it will also run 120.

The Stilletto appears to be an ugly new portable like the S50, but without as good of a screen, more record time (100 hours on the S100 and 10 on the S10) and built in wifi on the S100.

I don't lose my preprogrammed stations when I turn off the power or even unplug the unit completely.

Same here.
Just FYI, the sportster4 is already on sale at best buy. It's about 1/2 as thick as the Sportster Replay and has all the same features (maybe a few new ones).
I cant wait to see the starmate4 in person

I will steal your antenna placement. I have mine placed here but it sucks when you have to change the channel while driving so I am looking for a new place to put it. Sorry about the quality but my camera battery is dying.

Awesome work. I have the same unit to install soon. Not sure I want to hack my parts so I may just build a custom enclosure.

Hey they guy in the photos in step #9 has the same sneakers as me! Oh wait thats because those are my pics!! Thats ok though, no problems. I'm actually thinking of doing something similar for a Nav install but I want to buy a new ash tray rack piece so I can swap it back in when my lease is up. Any thoughts on that anyone?

(PS for more pics of taking apart your RX-8 dash to get at your radio, see here: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/ ) ;-)

I know this thread if a few months old, but I am curious how did you secure it in the ashtray? What is preventing it from moving around?

Thats the beauty of it, it fits so snug that you don't need anything to hold it in. If you want you can use black electrical tape around the bottom or top or sides to hold it in more snug, BUT DO IT SO YOU CANT SEE THE ELECTRICAL TAPE OR ILL HATE YOU haha
