Otherwise tweaking some sensors such as lowering the fan power on temperature as well as disabling the 2nd o2 sensor and cat checking would be nice for those of us with racing pipes that stare at CEL's all day.

I agree the product isn't useless without the street tuner software unless your FI. Still, I'm sure we'll see a lot of N/A guys like myself pick this up.

I'm excited for this product and can't wait for it to be completed.
And i will to!

Would be interested to see some dyno numbers. Even early beta ones would be nice. I have the AP1 and it worked awesomely. I wonder if I can use it to load maps for the rx-8. Yes... yes unmarry the other car first.

I also forgot to mention that the AP v.2 release was delayed for ALL cars that Cobb is supporting. They have recently started shipping for the STi guys and the 350z guys so the rest of their product releases are eminent.

Here's another.... I was intentionally waiting for this to come out BEFORE modding my car, well that and it's under warranty. I have done and will continue to do some small stuff, mostly cosmetic, but I was waiting for this product to be my cornerstone.

If the intial release has a "stock" map that basically mimics the RB flash I'll be happy. If it comes with a couple of "safe" turbo maps I'll be even happier. If it turns the fans on earlier like RB I would be estatic.
To me, the street tuner software is really inconsequential for a couple of years. I really odn't want to go FI until my car is out of warranty, and no longer a daily driver. Until then I will probably stick to some basic boltons and visual mods. I think the AP should be the perfect way to skirt around a few thigns and get a few HP for a bit....

Well maybe Justin @ Cobb can help with a copy of the last RX-8 dyno run that Christian and I did at MMP on August 10. Neither Christian or Billy have gotten back to me with it.

If that doesn't convince anyone on the Cobb AP for an RX-8, then nothing will (221+ rwhp naturally aspirated on a Mustang dyno)

That's like 300 on the dynojet right?

What supporting mods?

Yeah I've been waiting to see that...

But your results are going to be somewhat out of normal considering what has been done to your car...right?

Even 210rwhp on a Mustang dyno would be fantastic, especially considering FDs put down ~215whp from the factory. For a stock, unported 13B to get to that is a great accomplishment, imo.

I believe the biggest things would be the lightweight wheels, high flow cat (couldn't possibly outflow a catless pipe), and 3" exhaust. I believe I saw Team say somewhere he had a completely factory drivetrain.

+10% is what some people suggest if you want to engage in a dyno war, but I'm just reporting the actual facts

just the stuff everybody says never works:

Will the initial, non-tuner software version support the 4AT? Couldn't tell from Justin's post if the AT won't be supported at all yet, or if they just don't have info for the tuner software for the ATs.

It helps WRT to weight loss, which is irrelevant on a dyno

the gain from not driving a non-running AC compressor is negligible on the RX-8

Christian and Billy are down in Florida for PRI this week. As soon as they get back, I will see if they can dig up those dyno charts.

The AccessPORT release for Mazda RX-8 is still set for early 1st quarter 2008. However, that is an actual dyno chart from our shop RX-8.
