anyways i just wanted to see if there were any new developments for the 4-port a/t because i know cobb said they were lacking in volunteers for the development. there is still some support for an item like this.

I'll snap his neck.
To the original question - they said they didn't have any 4-ports in their area to do development work on. They talked about doing some traveling for this, but there hasn't been any updates on that front.

i got questions that may have been answered already but here they go.
can the stock map be changed? say we go to mazda and they come out with a new flash, can we save that flash in place of whatever stock one is on there?
the stage 2 sounds perfect to me as the only power mods i plan to have are high flow cat, catback, and maybe this. will the panel filter actually make a big difference?
how many maps can be saved?
and finally and most importantly (for now), will the rev limit be increased, or will it be able to be increased by the user?
thanks! cant wait

Original Turbo 'd Auto !!
And I'm tired of oxygen being wasted on idiots, but that's not going to stop.

So we will have to wait longer. It's nice to see a working product, Trey and Justin. Good luck on the beta testing.

Hopefully I can address all the questions. I apologize if I miss any.
Price is $695. The tuning software is a little extra, as not everyone needs it. I'll go over more in depth as to the tuning software shortly.
Thanks for the input on the popular intakes. We'll try and see what we can do on our end to acquire/test those setups.
As for auto RX-8s, yes there is hope. We have every intention and desire to make the AccessPORT available for those models. All we lack are the vehicles to test with. We have some plans in place to help us get this support added in but initially it'll be 6MT only.
Stock Map: Yes, it can be changed. What happens when you install the AccessPORT is that it'll download your factory map onto the AccessPORT. If Mazda comes out with a new flash, you simply Uninstall the AccessPORT from your car, go in for the update, and when you get the car back you just re-install the AccessPORT. It will download the newly updated map from your PCM. You can do this each time an update is released if you'd like.
Panel filter does not make a huge difference. Why we mention it is because we'd prefer you keep the stock air box due to the stock MAF housing size and design. The factory air box is actually a very well engineered piece. Not knocking any aftermarket designs, but the factory box.... nice.
The AccessPORT has a lot of memory and most users can store more maps on it than they can reasonably use. We suggest no more than about 20, but you can load more if you absolutely need to.
Rev Limit can be increased. Our initial mapping we did not do this as we weren't seeing a reason to on the dyno but we may change that for customer satisfaction reasons. Currently it is not user adjustable but this may change.
Keep in mind the AccessPORT can be updated in the field, like your iPod/iPhone, cell phone, etc. We push out regular updates, bug fixes, etc that you can easily download for free from our website and load onto the device. So once it's released we'll start gathering feedback and continue to evolve the device for everyone.
Cheers,
Trey @ COBB

Meh...it's just money...its sort of like racing...if your buying things based on how much they cost and not what they do and the quality...your doing it wrong...
#496
~$700ish for the AP + maybe another ~$1k for the "pro" tuner software...

I like being the abrasive reviewer when I need to be...I'm pretty hard on things as I expect a minimum standard of functionality...
When stuff does not work...I like to understand why...and when it will...
If it works great...I become a cheerleader...
If its craptacular...and there is no hope for correction...
I'll set up a freakin site simply to host my review pointing that out...haa haa
Something tells me that I will not be asked to beta test it...I doubt they possess the "cojones" to allow me to do so...heh
