Simple answer. Ask the Scoobie guys.

not so much I'd assume, considering he has nothing to gain from listening to people ask stupid questions such as 'is it worth it' when it isn't even in its final form yet. Just be patient guys, they want to ensure they do give us a quality product. I'd prefer that over a rushed flawed product.

To mac11: See the reason why I can't take that comment seriously is because you are comparing the EJ20T vs the renesis 13b. The turbo can benefit MUCH more from fine tuning than the nearly maxed out 13b can... I don't see why you would bring that up really.

I take it you are only concerned with power figures. The Accessport is an easy, end user interface. The features are why the Subaru guys appear to swear by it.

I was talking strictly of the tuning capabilities of the AccessPort. You are talking motors, I'm talking computers.

Now you will have an option that will let you tune F/I with no splicing into the factory wiring, no adding a dongle here or there, no CEL's. The car will run exactly as if it were stock while making 10+PSI. So, again, is it worth it? Ask the Scoobie guys and ask MazdaManiac. As I recall he has been through more than 1 engine management systems. He seems to have done a lot to the electrical system to try to make the overbearing computer run the car correctly. Ask him if a simple, straight forward, relatively easy to use interface is going to be worth it and would have made his life easier.

From that standpoint, I understand your point of view. I just misinterpreted your statement I suppose. Sorry about that.

I have an AP for my 92x Aero set at Stage II. It's a very good mod. Super easy to use and easily reversible back to stock settings. IMHO one of the best ECU tuning product out there.

I've heard good things about this product. Anybody know if this first release will work with the 4 port autos?

I think it will be a great mod.

The question is will it resolve all the tuning issues for the turbo guys?

Hopefully its a good deal. I will be getting it regardless, but the lack of a really nice tuning solution is all thats holding me back from going turbo.

the current story is they are busy releasing the EVO stuff this month in Japan... the 8 is still a couple months out, and they need 2006 and 2007 cars for testing

What tuning issues?

The thing with tunning is it is either tuned or it is not.
I don't have any issues with Int-X. I don't think MM has issues with Emanage, other than "I wish I could also do this..."

AP will be just another tool to help you tune.
Will it have more capabilities? Probably.
But adding functionality always adds complexity, so you'd need deeper understanding.

Going too lean under boost with AP is going to blow your engine same way as going lean under boost with Int-X or EMU...

You guys get so excited over a new product, hoping it'll just magically solve your problems, but it won't. You still need to tune, remember? The only thing that will solve your tunning issues is to actually learn how to do it.

The AP rocks because it's one less system under the hood to break.

Also, we can pick and choose which CELs are valid. System too rich = stupid. Missing cat = no duh.

I look forward to this, but don't plan on being an early adopter.

What we have now works, but if I had one area to pick to improve upon, it would be my idle.

That definitely is something I keep fighting with too

Though I got it to run in smooth 13 with AC off, as soon as AC comes it starts jumping from 11.7 back up there, and the shuddering is somewhat annoying. But I guess that is an issue that will never go away on Int-X.

Maybe a year or so after the thing is released, I'd consider switching, but not before.

People want to be able to ride around without a CEL on constantly, don't want to have to add dongle A, B, ... ,X to make the thing work right.
