glad it worked out ok

you have to contact the UK sources and verify, I was trying to come up with with another O2 module; they list things on their website that aren’t in stock at their store.

Was the only option for a FD swap, A heltech or Link would work but the local workshop has always used a Adaptronics

I confirmed these S1 RX8 ECU adapter/patch harnesses are still available. You can either piggyback with the factory ecu or just cut the OE plugs off the ECU side and wire it into an aftermarket ECU. Though some extra wiring for sensors etc. that were not originally provided will be required.

in addition to having an RX8 patch ECU harness for purchase this source can also custom make an ECU harness to your specification too

Are these ECUs still available somewhere? And can I run without an Omp with a standalone?

they are discontinued/sold out so you need to find a used or nitb unit from a private seller, but yes; no omp needed, but it won’t pass OBD2 emissions testing if that matters.

Could it be that hard to duplicate the Adaptronic for our plug n play application?

just a reminder that Adaptronic ECU support services will be going away. So you need to be sure to download and store copies of the software/firmware in case you ever need to install it in the future. I'd suggest that you store in multiple places rather than just on your computer (separate hard drive, USB, etc.) so if it's lost on one there are backups. Having remembered that a bunch of Cobb AccessPort users didn't do that and had issues when they needed the software. Which now I think you have to pay for a license or something to receive it from a 3rd party.

a number of old internet links are dead, but this one is still working as of now: https://adaptronic.com.au/pages/downloads

I haven't spoken with Andy in ages. With the big acquisition is the name dying or are we just talking about the original Select? I could've swore one of his goals was to support it in Eugene. This is all moot if the brand has been killed.

His company was bought out by Haltech and then he joined them as an employee too. Not sure if he’s still employed there or not. Haltech was then bought out as well by another company. On May 15, 2022 the new Haltech announced they were going to discontinue the brand and end support after 1 year. Whether they continue the download page after that and for how long is unknown.

The link to the Select ECU (Legacy) software is on that same page I posted the link for in the post above. You’d best download and archive the Wari and base map files for your personal use in addition to the Eugene software. The closure notice is on the home AU page from that same link.

In the end it was a business and it was sold out. Even if he was true to his word, he could die suddenly at any moment. In the end no man is capable of redeeming himself, let alone any other. Yet so many go to the grave only believing in themselves and the world that they committed to.

Does anyone know if there's a way to connect a switch to the Adaptronic in OEM configuration? I'd like to configure multiple fuel/ignition/boost maps. Looking at the digital inputs section, all inputs are currently in use. Are the AC SW 2 and AC AMP used for anything? Can I reuse those pins?

I've also noticed that all the other digital inputs, up to digital input 12, do not show up in the Eugene software either, despite being referenced in the wiring area. Is that because there's custom hardware utilizing those pins, so they're off limits to the software? Surely there is at least one digital input available for use?

not entirely sure, but you may need to add a module expansion board, finding one may be an issue unless you can add something via CAN

From my digging, there doesn't appear to be any way to have the software detect arbitrary CAN inputs

This situation is particularly annoying regarding digital input 8 (pin 2E), which is used for the factory borderline-useless oil pressure switch (if thats even consumed properly by the Adaptronic, not sure) whose functionality is entirely superseded by an oil pressure sensor via pin 3O in any decent aftermarket application leaving the pin entirely available for use if it was actually visible in the software

pretty sure it doesn’t have to, you can use an AiM dash or other such device to handle it and the ecu then interacts with it

I’m not sure if multiple maps are possible, there are going to be some limitations given the price level

The Adaptronic supports dual boost maps, dual fuel, dual ignition maps, and ability to arm/disarm anti-lag all via digital input, along with the ability to control traction control strength via analog input. You can take a look at the Eugene software for free to see what features it has if you're curious 😊

Adaptronic ECU

Hey, I found a nib Adaptronic RX8 PNP on Facebook Marketplace, the FIRST TIME I SEARCHED! Fb Marketplace is a plethora of items of all kinds. Won't need it for a while, engine is gradually, coming together. It was virtually new price at $1500.

Here's a good download page. https://www.haltech.com/downloads/adaptronic
