Aftermarket IAT sensors?

Aftermarket IAT sensors?
Has anyone clipped the temperature sensor in the MAF and ran an aftermarket sensor downstream in the boosted area?
This is something that is recommended to be done in some of the Ford and Chevy FI setups.
Dumb?

nope, not a bad idea at all.
the newer fords have the iat built into the maf sensor. on the gt500's they also have one in the intake manifold so that iat's are measured after the air is compressed. on the mustang gt's when we add a supercharger, we add an iat sensor to the manifold and re wire the maf so that iat's are measured after boost.

This was actually suggested by the methanol injection company tech I spoke with, he also said it was standard for Fords and that it worked well, the question would be what scale is volts to temp and what is the full spec for our MAF IAT sensor.

I do not need to know this; just need to find a place for another MAF sensor....
I will let you know how it turns out.
