ive heard that the greddy turbo kit works on the automatic rx8 but the emanage doesnt. is there a different piggyback unit that works? does the emanage ultimate work?

 

Just today I emailed Rick at at Rick's Rotary (owner of the turbo auto) because I have an auto and am thinking about getting the greddy kit. He said hes using the blue e-manage but will be switching to the e-manage ultimate because it's easier to control timing. He also said something about using it to retard timing when the tranny shifts for smoother shifting.

 

milk him for more info--like times and how its running.

 

He said he dropped his 0-60 from 8.8 seconds stock to 6.4. He also said the car is running very smooth. Its at 6 lbs of boost and gas mileage is about 19 mpg with the max being 24 mpg on a trip. Its got 7000 miles so far with the turbo on it.

 

Very interesting--the new 06 A/Ts probably will be more receptive to the greddy turbo.

 

did anyone ever find out if the new 06 A/Ts have a detuned 6-port or a 4-port?

I've never gotten an answer on that. For selfish A/T owner reasons I hope its a modified 4-port--so maybe we can get the same extra power out too. If its a 6-port that will mean it will respond to all the M/T mods and be a decent accelerating car.
